Family vaca

Although we loved the pools, tiki bar, and beach access, we had quite a bit of trouble with the condo. If you are looking for space for a family of 5 this condo is not for you. The bunk beds were nice but the tv in the kids room did not work. The tv was also hidden to where you couldn’t watch it from the beds. The front eye of the stove did not work and the dryer did not dry. We will most likely be back to the facility, but will not spend the money for this specific condo again.

Yearly trip

We have been staying at the Pelican Resort going on 5 years now. We always stay on the side and this year decided to see what a corner unit was like with a front view. Which was very nice. Upon arriving, there were several broken items. (Lamp, dresser, tub) I sent an email to inform and did not get a response. Not that I wanted it fixed, it was for their knowledge. The floors were absolutely not cleaned prior and sand in the beds. We will stick to our regular room from here on out.

Stay in Destin

The condo was as advertised. It was nice with a great view of the beach. The resort itself seems to be in need of some updating, but it does appear that they're trying. Two of the four elevators were out of order on the day of arrival so it made the wait a bit longer, but they were fixed the middle of the next day. The indoor/outdoor pool was closed, but the 2 outdoor ones were open and my 3 year old loved them both. Certain points of the day provided ample shading so you weren't sweating in the upper 90-degree weather. The "security" can be a little annoying as the same guards will ask you for your wristbands at the pool multiple times. The guards will also come out to the beach and hound you about it, too. You also can't put up any tents or canopies and the umbrella service at the resort pretty much monopolizes the beach and view of the water. I wish I would've known that because we really felt like we couldn't enjoy the beach at all because of that (we have our own chairs and small canopy as umbrellas just don't give me the shade I need having had skin cancer in the past). Again, the condo itself was definitely nice, and I'd stay there again, but the whole point of coming was to go to the beach and we were only there about an hour one day of our entire stay so that was a little disappointing. It's the resort's rules, not the condo owner, so I can't hold that against them. This is not a bad review, I would just like to make sure others are aware. :-)

Weekend getaway

We came out for Father’s Day weekend and overall trip was good. Beds were a little warn in and if your used to having multiple pillows to sleep on I’d suggest brining your own. Fridge was good with an ice maker, balcony had great views. Water pressure was decent and bathrooms were a nice size. The washer and dryer setup was convenient until we used it. The dryer ruined out clothes. I assume since it’s so old it rushed from that and probably the sandy, salty clothing. So all of our light colored clothes ended up getting rust stains all over them. And the condo was very hot. Besides that it was overall a great trip. Just upset bout our clothes that got messed up.

Views can’t be beat!

We had a great week in this unit. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The views were amazing! We watched dolphins from the balcony a couple times during our stay. The heated pools were great for the cooler weather, although we enjoyed the beach as well. There is a lot to do nearby and even several places within walking distance.

A great break from winter

It's a good property that was undergoing some maintenance and appearance updates during our stay, with the biggest issue being some daytime construction noise, debris, and some elevators unavailable so that workers and construction material could be transported. Most of the time we were out on the beach or the surrounding area during the day, so the inconvenience was minimal. By the time we left, the work appeared to be nearly complete, so the last days were more normal. Great area, great beach, and it worked out fine for us. we especially enjoyed the view afforded by this corner unit.

The most amazing family stay in place!

Where do I start… the place is clean in and out. Pool are amazing and clean. I enjoyed the commodity and the carts to help you take luggage's in and out of the condo room. The elevators were fast. Over all my family and I enjoyed our vacation to its fullest and it was such an easy access to the beach and fun places around! 5 starts would be overrated! Book here you won’t regret it.

Amazing views with 2 balconies!!

We have stayed at The Pelican a dozen times but always stay in different condos. This unit was great. It can comfortably sleep 7 with a king size master, 2 sets of bunk beds and a couch. It had everything we needed for our stay. The views are magnificent and since its a corner unit you can see it all. The only issue with this place was the cleaniness of the floors upon arrival. We all took our shoes off at the door upon arrival and the floors were very sandy. I would suggest using a leaf blower on the floors. Blow all the sand to one place then sweep it up with a broom then mop. Nothing worse then constant sandy feet inside. Also, the owner needs to get some seating on the master balcony. Seems silly to have a balcony and nowhere to sit and relax. Bring laundry pods. We washed our sandy beach stuff each day and washed all our dirty laundry the night before departing. Nothing better than getting home from vacation with all clean clothes!! We very much enjoyed our stay here and would definitely rent this particularly unit again. Thanks for sharing your home with us!!

Early summer Destin getaway

Our family of 5 booked the condo. It was very clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds. The view was great from the balcony. It was easy to get to the beach and enjoy spending time with the family on the awesome white sand beaches of Destin. We were close to different amenities. Walmart and a grocery store were close by to get our supplies for the week. We would definitely stay here again.

Spring Break

Check in was seamless. Property is great . Second year staying at Pelican Beach Resort . Lots of amenities. Staff members always smiling and willing to help with whatever you need. The condo was perfect . Space was great for 2 adults and 2 14 year old boys. Very clean ,plenty of towels /wash rags. Kitchen was stocked with all that you would need. Perfect view from both balconies and windows! Would definitely stay again!

Someone needs to care about property

The property was not clean and really needs a deep cleaning. The property needs to be better maintained better, paint, caulk, couches and pillows cleaned. We did not use the AC because it smelled mildewly and moldy when we turned it. Overall it could be a nice property but somebody needs to truly care about it.

Beautiful in a beautiful location.

This was a great place for our family to enjoy the beach. We had 4 girls in the bunk room and it was very comfortable. We did have a little issue with checking in. We needed to check in at the front desk for parking passes, but the door code was in a portal that was accessed through an email. The email was sent to my trash and stripped of all links. I was able to call and have the link resent, but I’m sharing this so others know, if you don’t get an email prior to checking in, check your spam. Otherwise our stay had no issues, and we were able to just enjoy Destin.

The location is excellent! The view was amazing!

The view was amazing and Destin is a great place to travel with friends or as a family. We ate at some amazing restaurants and took up some parasailing! My only suggestions for the condo is that they should provide some more essentials like a couple more rolls of toilet paper and paper towel. Maybe some coffee filters. Especially for this that do not have a car and have to Uber to the store each time they run out of something. Other than that, everything was amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Would never stay at the Pelican Beach Resort again

Reason for going to Deskin was the beach and while staying at this resort you can not get anywhere near the beach unless you want to pay $35 a day and good luck trying to get the front row even if you do pay for a chair and umbrella. Next time I will look for a resort that allows you to put a chair and umbrella where you want so you can at least see the water. Even the resorts next to the Pelican only have one row of chairs not five.
