The Glenview Hotel And Leisure Club4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed for a weekend with family in April. The Leisure centre was great, the Woodlands resultant food was gorgeous, the staff everywhere were so friendly & helpful. The hotel itself is a small bit dated in decoration wise. The bistro bar food was also lovely, the barman were so friendly & great craic. The bedrooms were very stuffy the air con wasn't very good at all, that was the only fault.
I was disappointed with our stay at the Glenview hotel. Upon arrival and check-in, I found a small amount of rubbish in the room, we were moved to another room without issue, but I had to explain how I came across the rubbish to housekeeping and that they had only checked the room minutes before I had arrived and how "it was not there then" and that they had been cleaning rooms for years and would not of missed it. Implying that it was us who put it there. The second room had a very distinct smell but in order to avoid more hassle we agreed to stay. Later in the bar, I ordered a drink and found a lot of residue of a past, sticky drink still on the glass. I brought it to the attention to the bar staff and they had no idea what to do - until a more experienced member of staff offered a replacement drink in a clean glass. Breakfast was also disappointing. Tea/Coffee and toast served as soon as you arrived which was warm at best initially, and completely cold by the time you were eating it - as guests of course usually eat some fruit or cereal first. The fruit (bananas) were all split. Requested sugar and ketchup for the table, which never arrived. In the end we had to leave the food and go to a local cafe instead. Dinner and Leisure center were good, but by no means 4 star. Overall for the price paid and the expectation of a 4 star hotel and service I feel let down.
I love this hotel, good staff, good food and great views. Would recommend. A short driving distance away is the lovely Glendalough walk, and I enjoyed the meal in the restaurant morning and evening....
We attended the hotel for a family celebration and I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and its staff!! All staff were so helpful from the minute I contacted them. Kate the events manager looked after every detail and as soon as we walked into the hotel we were greeted by helpful, friendly staff. The location, hotel and food were amazing. We will definitely go back again!!
This was our 3rd stay here and we will def return just love this place.....its hidden just off the motorway but the scenery is breathtaking from the hotel but what makes this hotel unique is everywhere is so accessible as the motorway is so close to hand but once you are in the hotel u feel your miles from anywhere situated in the mountains. Wicklow Bray Greystones all just a quick drive and easily found. Love the fact Avoca hand weavers is just down the road a little bit nice clothes jewellery etc to buy plus lovely coffee shop and food. Great staff here special mention for Manager Michael, barman John and Angela who works in the spa.....all great assets to any business. We stayed in room 202 absolutely beautiful recently had a refurb and was so pleased this suite had a balcony lovely to sit and hav a coffee and enjoy the view....hotel also has lovely seating area at front of hotel too. Bistro food supberb with daily specials on I had the chicken with mash veg and crispy kale and to tell you the truth it was the best meal ever....desserts also outstanding and made fresh each day. Breakfast has lots of choice too and eggs cooked to order is a nice touch. Every time I come here I have to have a treatment in the haven spa as the therapist Angela is so good at what she does....facials in particular are fantastic and skin looks as if you have had Botox or fillers Hehe Angela works wonders hydrating the skin...massage very good too and great deals on midweek so look out for special offers. Pool and changing area brill outdoor hottub as well. Hotel staff all very pleasant and helpful could not be better. Hotel location is amazing so hard to believe you are only minutes from motorway. Lovely relaxing feel to hotel and we had a nosey at wedding room which was spectacular what a place to have your reception good food great views lovely gardens. Can't wait to return to this lovely hotel it's one of our favourites and a place you could never get tired of visiting as there's so much to see and do in the area. Very talented chefs here.....so def call in and try the food lovely selection salad bar at lunchtime and bistro menu brilliant didn't eat in restaurant this time but menu looked amazing too. Can't wait to return for my birthday in June although I may have to return before then as it's just such a wonderful place.
My husband and I stayed for three days in the beautiful hotel, the rooms are a good size well equipped and the staff are extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good, with a good variety and fresh eggs cooked to order which was a nice touch. Lovely views from the restaurant and some lovely walks nearby.
This hotel is in a beautiful location and can be a bit challenging to find if you don't know the area. The hotel is lovely and quiet, staff very pleasant, but the bed was a bit small and not real comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Stayed here for one night recently. Beautiful location and stunning views from restaurant. Staff were very pleasant especially in the bar. Ate in the bistro and found the food and service good. My only gripe would be the poor selection of draught lager available. No Heineken, Carlsberg, coors or budweiser. Available in bottles but not in draft which is my preference! Also the 11 am checkout is a tad early for me. No time to relax after a big breakfast! Overall though a nice stay as we were blessed with good weather, lovely woodland walk adjacent to hotel. No time to check out leisure centre..
Stayed for one night on two separate occasions once with family and once with friends. rooms spacious and clean with stunning views. Dinner in the conservatory and the restaurant were both good and staff were exceptionally helpful. lovely hotel for a short break
I stayed with my Mother for one night but I wish it had been longer, what a beautiful hotel and we were lucky enough to have great weather so we had a wonder in the Gardens which are equally as beautiful. The breakfast was the best we had ever had with a wonderful view over the Wicklow mountains. Our dinner was delicious! our favorite item being the mushroom soup. Very close to Dublin airport too. I can not wait to stay again
