Check in was easy. Troy is a gem and made us feel right at home. Room was small but quaint and very clean. The over all Nostalgia & history of the hotel was warm & inviting. Fresh coffee and cold drinks in the lobby free of charge. Parking was easy and included at property. Perfect location in downtown Deadwood. We highly recommend and will stay there again.

We wanted to stay in an older hotel that met the vibe of downtown Deadwood, rather than a new modern hotel, and Iron Horse Inn did not disappoint! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is included and the location is awesome. There’s also an old time casino with an adorable little bar attached to the hotel!

I was in Deadwood for a conference. The Iron Horse is a very cool old building that radiates the feel of Deadwood and located right in the heart of town. You become friends with the staff instantly. Highly recommended.

Nice to have our own parking spot. People were nice. The room was way, way too dark….No storage, chairs were so old, they squeaked. I know they go for a nostalgic look, but we only had 2 drawers to store things and we were there for two weeks. The room was large, but the carpeting had many stains on it, very gross. The A/C was controlled, we couldn’t adjust it below 69 degrees. Kind of tacky? I wouldn’t stay there again…😫

When I went to confirm the booking a message showed the room was not available. I booked another thru expedia. The Iron horse called and I explained the situation. They said they would refund my pre paid charge. They did reverse the charge but then the next day they recharged my card. They refuse to correct an error that was not of my doing.

My stay was fantastic! The staff at the Iron Horse were extremely kind and personable. I was welcomed with a warm smile every time I entered the building, which was so sweet. The place itself is like stepping back in time once you enter your room. The vaulted ceilings were very neat, and it had that vintage charm. The location was perfect. Only a block from the main drag, and only a few minutes walk from the rodeo. So many great restaurants nearby, and even pizza on the main floor and basement of the Iron Horse! Overall, I couldn't recommend my stay enough. I would love to be back!
