Old fashioned charm
Loved the historic presence of the hotel and the authenticity of the remodeling over the years. Staff were exceptionally friends and helpful when needed. Hotel was clean. Having a mini fridge in the room would have been nice.
We were put in a smoking room when I always request a non smoking. They did change it for us which was nice. Room and carpet are filthy. I would t not stay here again. Could not get into the restaurant in the hotel called Legends. The first night we tried to get a table at 8:30 for dinner. They wouldn’t take us saying they were done seating tables for the night even thought they did. It close till 0pm. The second night we tried to get in at 6:30 they said they couldn’t seat us till 9:30. Ridiculous trying to say anywhere.
Restaurant was great. Rooms were old and smelly.
We traveled here in 2018. I liked it because it felt old and historic like I was stepping back in time. The room was definitely not modern so this hotel may not be for everyone. There was also a play/gunfight in front of the hotel at 6pm. We also enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel. Super convenient to everything in Deadwood at a good price.
Our room looked like it could fall apart at any moment--huge cracks in the wall, ceiling tiles falling down. It was dingy and dirty. Staff were friendly overall.
The image and thought of the Historic Franklin is cool! But, sadly the mattresses and comforters are historic as well. No coffee in the rooms and our non smoking room reaked of smoke.
Friendly staff. Ceiling crumbling down. No hot water, but that was fixed, not enough plug ins.
Loved the old west theme of the room. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Good pricing too. Only thing I thought was petty was I was playing the slots in their casino and was offered a free drink. My husband was with be but not playing. He was refused a comp drink because he was not playing even though he was with me and we were guests , other than that very nice
Our bathroom was not built for one at a time. Very tight with one. Mirrors and lighting are poor. Bed was adequate bedding is old. The veranda was nice. The public restroom was very nice. Our meals at legends were very good. Front desk was short staffed. No tables were open in the hotel. Staff was pleasant even though they were just so short staffed. We will not stay here again
Older room liked the design. Got what i expected from an old hotel.
We have started here twice and never have hot water in the morning
Beds were as old as the hotel and had to flush the toilet by hand. said something at the end of the stay and got no response from the desk people. Not worth the $800 for 2 nights.
Great location, clean room. wonderful staff, amazing restaurant
I did not realize I was booking a smoking room when I booked this,my bad. The smell was so terrible. I considered getting a different hotel. There are no windows for ventilation and the ashtrays that were left in the room still had ashes in it. The beds and pillows are not comfortable. Overall a terrible experience.
