Top hotel for exploring the area

Great hotel on the banks of the Adur. Lovely little town easily within walkable distance. Although there was not a car park I was able to get easy free street parking either around the hotel or just a short walk across the bridge. I used this hotel to explore the area and visited the amazing beaches within the Landes area

The room was small, but had a beautiful view of the river and it was clean, if not a little worn down by the years. The service was okay. The hotel has a nice location by the river and close to pleasant downtown Dax.

We are Silver members the Accor hotels group and stay across all the hotel ranges in many countries and I always have positive treatment. In this hotel, they had dogs roaming around, smelly and very much needing a facelift. Apart from the break fax staff, all others were "doing you a favour". As an Accor Silver member we get one complimentary drink each. This was so difficult for them to prepare hot chocolate that we almost told them to forget it. We did not enjoy our stay there.

Good choice

Centrally located within walking distance of what you might want to see/do, this is a clean, updated hotel. All staff we came across were very helpful, friendly, professional and efficient. The breakfast was surprisingly good (kept replenished) given the room price paid. There is a juicer, a coffee machine dispensing pretty good quality coffee (better than the instant coffee being dispensed in the hotels elsewhere we'd stayed at), cereals including unsweetened muesli (i.e. not just sugary/chocolate ones), fresh butter pastries (i.e. not the cheaper margarine variety) as well as white/wholemeal bread. Given that many European hotel breakfasts we'd had up until then - even at higher starrage/costlier properties - did not provide the "healthier"/not quite so bland options, this breakfast was a real treat. The only real downsides are (1) there is no dedicated parking; there is paid street parking immediately outside the hotel and just a few metres away, unpaid street parking, (2) the hotel attracts medical spa goers; you will share breakfast with people wandering about in robes. The room (as is to be expected of a hotel of this type) is small but had the basics (clean, decent bathroom with a good shower, comfortable bed), the balcony is very small and has no furniture but the internet (free) connection in the room was good. There could be a better variety of English TV channels (or a working "change language" application via the remote).

Good Hotel

The room was small but adequate . Our room had a balcony overlooking the river, excellent, quiet air conditioning. Our only criticism, would be the interior decor, which affected the whole ambience and was frankly bizarre. Overall we enjoyed our stay . The staff were helpful and attentive, and the room rate was excellent.

Tout est très bien sauf clim un peu bruyante et une grande fenêtre à droite SANS système de fermeture (verrou absent ; trou caché proprement …) permettant à l’air d’entrer un peu. Problème découvert le matin en ouvrant le rideau opaque.Signalé à l’accueil qui nous a remercié . Cause peut-être de l’essoufflement de la Clim qui était réglée avec raison à 22 mini avec 34 dehors et tournait beaucoup (arrêtée vers 3 h à cause du bruit et remise à 7 h.pendant 1 h). Incident curieux !
