This lovely mountain home has the view everyone is looking for! If you are imaging a cozy mountain vacation with views, a full kitchen and access to amenities like volleyball, basketball and pickleball courts, here it is! Chaleur et Lumiere is the solution to your perfect vacation situation!! The cabin offers a full kitchen, gas fireplace, large deck, and a view that goes on forever and ever. Winter visitors will love the short drive to everything snow at Timberline Mountain, White Grass, and Canaan Resort. Year round it is a short drive to the chic towns of Davis and Thomas. Visit Blackwater Falls and enjoy numerous hiking and biking trails. Enjoy the chalet of warmth and light! Four- and all-wheel drive cars with winter tires are necessary November thru March.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spent a long weekend in the area and enjoyed staying at this rental. It does require stairs to access the living space on the 2nd floor. Rental was clean, well-stocked, and fairly spacious for a 2-bedroom. The deck has nice furniture, is private, and the view is beautiful. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

The location itself is unbeatable. The view directly over the National Wildlife Preserve is the best the Black Bear Resort has to offer. The fact that its at the end of the road, end of the cul-de-sac, the privacy is fantastic. Inside, the overall theme of things is really nice, but lacking upkeep and comfort. The beds are uncomfortable and small. The furniture in the primary suite is all either old hand me down looking junk, or something you can tell came from cheap Walmart college collection. The primary suite also, instead of a fan and light, has some fancy chandelier, but most of the fancy bulbs are out and only way to change them would be move the bed and use a ladder. Very stale air in there. The primary bedroom screen door to the outside is broken. The bedroom door does not lock. The decking is very old, sharp splinters everywhere, nails backed out on the steps. Unsafe for children. You must wear shoes and be careful touching the rail going on the steps or you will get splinters. There were bird droppings all over the lower deck where it does not rain, so we could not use. The fan in the living room is of course fancy, but not functional and doesn't work. The fireplace fan does not work and is a loud metal on metal sound. The jacuzzi tub jets do not work. The second bedroom door struggles to open. Overall, this place has potential, but its being wasted. If you are just going for the view, go for it, but this place is not comfortable or luxurious in any way.
