Spring break trip for two families

Great property on Dauphin Island, perfect for two families on vacation in gated community. Close to private beach, pool and tennis court. Very well stocked kitchen and plenty of bikes/ beach supplies for the house. Elizabeth is a wonderful and thoughtful host! Thank you for sharing your beach home with us!

Best VRBO ever

Liz was great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. This is the best equipped home we have ever stayed in. Nice relaxing home comfortably serving 7 adults. Fully stocked kitchen. Great neighborhood, close to everything. We can't say enough good things about this property.

The Salty Dog rocks!

The true measure of service is not when everything is perfect; it's when there's a problem. Our AC failed while we were there. Fixed in less than six hours by a true professional. That said, I have never stayed anywhere that considered your needs more carefully. Not just a fully stocked kitchen, but spices, and flour and things you don't even realize you need. Sewing kits, band aids, bottle openers. I've never seen such a thoughtful approach to guests. Directions and suggestions, guides, and events. Location is divine. What a memorable vacation. Thank you so much!

Wonderful House on Dauphin

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time on Dauphin Island! Your home was beautiful- thank you for opening it up for us to stay there! We appreciated all of your thorough communication and all of the information that you provided regarding the house, what to do on and around the island, where to shop and eat, etc. (Also- the videos of the walk to the beach were really helpful as we were deciding on where to stay.) We appreciated all of the children’s books, toys, and DVDs- those things were so helpful to have for our kids to enjoy. The beach gear (chairs, sand toys, wagon, etc) and bikes were great to have too. Thank you again for your thorough, helpful communication and for helping to make our vacation so enjoyable!

A great getaway for a family of 5 with teen/adult children and two additional friends.

Our family of 5 plus 2 additional friends truly enjoyed the stay in this lovely beach home! I could have stayed longer than the week we booked! The thoughtful owners have anything and everything (and I do mean everything) needed to enjoy a stay on this beautiful island that we sometimes forget when packing for a vacation. It is evident that they are sharing the beach home that they have enjoyed for years with their family. The information provided was very honest, helpful and informative to make our stay the best it could possibly be! It felt more like visiting the home of a family member rather than a rental. It truly has the feel and comfort of a home away from home! All of our party appreciated the abience this lovely home provided. Although not directly on the beach, it did not disapoint! The sounds of nature surrounded the beautiful home and the beach is only a few minutes steps away (or less than that with a bike or golf cart). The owners provide bikes, beach cart, etc. to make the short trip to the beach so very easy. The neighborhood is beautiful and appeared safe to me. We made memories in this beautiful home and its surroundings. We had the opportunity to relax and connect with one another. I am grateful for that.

Amazing family vacation house!

This was the perfect vacation house for our family - we had an amazing time! Very kid-friendly - toys, movies, supplies, etc. were available for use, and the house was a quick walk to the pool and beach. Our 3-year-old loved it! The communication with the property manager, Liz, was the best- she provided so much valuable information and was super helpful and easy to contact!

Very relaxing family vacation!

We enjoyed our time at the salty dog! Felt like we had our own beach at times! Loved riding bikes, playing games and all the beach supplies provided were wonderful. Ended our week with a sunset cruise on the Duke, very fun and interactive. We really had a wonderful and relaxing vacation, thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Great House and Location

We enjoyed our stay in the gated community. The house was located in a quiet area and fully equipped! Very comfortable inside and on the deck. Liz did a great job welcoming us and checking in to make sure things were going ok. We'll definitely stay here again.

Dauphin Island’s Hidden Gem

The house was amazing! The house was exactly as it was described. It was clean and welcoming. Had very good amenities. It had everything you needed for your stay from all the necessities in your home to the storage room that includes bikes, beach chairs, toys, etc. The walk to the beach was 5 minutes. The house is surrounded by trees and you could hear the ocean and wildlife at night. This was our first trip to Dauphin Island and we will definitely be returning. One of the best vacations we have had. The homeowners were so friendly and accommodating. Everything was just amazing.

Just right

House was very clean and equipped with everything needed for a stay at the beach: from indoor furnishings, (new) bedding and towels, screened in porch for morning coffee and afternoon reads, beach chairs, bikes, and so much more. Perfect for a couple or family stay and the hostess could have not been more helpful. And of course, the location, Dauphin Island, is the best kept secret for a true getaway and fresh Gulf Coast seafood.

Fantastic Accommodations

We had a wonderful stay here with our two young children and grandmas and great grandparent (ages 4 to 84). New carpet was very nice. The kids loved all the toys inside that were there. We love riding around the neighborhood with the bikes. The kids enjoyed the sidewalk chalk and other sand toys. Four of the adults enjoyed finding a wonderful book to read for the week and the kids had cute books there that they enjoyed as well provided by the host. We mostly stayed in and cooked. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils/pans/pots. Beds were very comfortable and nice linens. Well stocked with towels as well. Beach access is great and lovely beach. Host let us use her brand new beach chairs. Wagon provided by host to walk things to beach was very handy. We hope to stay here again!

Great house and location

Really enjoyed the gated neighborhood and the people who live there are very friendly. Beach access is easy and beach was never crowded. Captain Snappers was excellent. Appreciated the use of all the amenities at the Salty Dog. Liz was great to work with.

Wonderful House!

The Salty Dog was perfect for our family vacation. The owner made sure that everything needed was provided. Short, pleasant walk to the private beach and pool for the community. Beach and pool was never crowded! This was our first visit to Dauphin Island and we loved it!

Unplug and unwind!

We loved staying here! From coffee on the balcony to breakfast on the deck to dinner and board games around the table to napping under the house in our hammock during a rainstorm, we enjoyed every inch of this property! The bikes and boogie boards were fun, and we appreciated the beach chairs for the sunset concert and the movie night at the beach! We cooked dinner every night and packed picnics for the beach. The house was perfect!

Wonderful memories made

This home is precious and in a gem of a neighborhood! We felt right at home at the Salty Dog. Most everything we needed (and things we didn’t know we would need) was already at the property... for example my daughters and I will never forget biking through the precious neighborhood and the big beach cart was a daily lifesaver! When we weren’t at the beach or swimming or biking the children loved bird watching and playing with the home’s collection of toys and books. Thank you Liz! We hope to return soon. :)
