My husband and his friends came to stay at the mantra on there way out to fishing and back.. when I rang and booked I asked if they could bring fish back and have it stored in the freezer I was told that they could.... upon returning from there fishing trip my husband asked about storing the fish the reception then proceeded to say we would have to ask the kitchen as we might not be able to.. Then upon collecting the fish two days later the fish was not frozen and the box damaged.. Heads up to any fisherman wishing to stay here as they now are travelling down to nsw and qld with thawed out fish which will be almost in edible by the time they get home ... to say we are upset about this is an understatement...
Check in was friendly and fast. We were allocated a suite which was spacious and comfortable and the full with balcony provided excellent water views. The CBD location is excellent and was within easy walking distance to the water front and convention centre where ther are many eating places.
We were not there very long however, from what we saw, it was great at the Mantra. Would come back if we were staying in Darwin again. Very central to everything and well presented. Balcony rooms are amazing! Thank you
Could not fault thecservice and ammentities at the Mantra. The hotel on the Esplanade is in a fantastic location ,close to the city and great service and meals . Very close to the main shopping strip and restaurants and atractions
I have to say that this resort was amazing. The staff behind the scenes never get a mention but I have to say these great staff made our stay. Every time I walked outside my room into the hallway I was greeted with the biggest smile. It made me smile myself as I walked outside into the day. Hi, Eye and GoodBye 🙋
Would definitely stay here again. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with harbour views and it was lovely and clean, friendly service and delicious meal in the restaurant, close to park, shops and cafe's recommend for all. The pool was great too.
I have stayed many times at this hotel and one of the best things was the restaurant Finns. The restaurant has changed names and obviously chef. The food quality was okay but bang for your dollar, there is better options within a couple of minutes walk. The room was comfortable and well maintained and the personnel from front counter to housekeeping were excellent.
There was a misunderstanding when I upgraded from City View to Harbour View that I was under the impression that it was $50 for the whole stay and not for the night. I then upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment which I was advised the full 5 night amount and was very happy with the upgraded room
The view was amazing, the room clean and tidy, the staff were very helpful and courteous. We were visiting Darwin and surrounds with friends and it was great to return each afternoon to the most amazing views, Mitchell St is located just behind the Mantra with all the variety you could wish for to select for dinner etc.
Overall service was good but housekeeping staff were not responsive in providing tea and milk supplies. The room was excellent with great views of the Darwin Harbour through the windows and from our balcony. Location was wonderful - walk to CBD shops and heaps of restaurants, to the Harbour and many tourist attractions such as the Deckchair cinema and WW2 Oil Tunnels. Best was the room location and least was the Housekeeping staff who need their training upgraded - we suspect their English language skills were very poor.
