The staff is amazing. Extremely attentive. Rooms are very comfortable. I travel a lot and have stayed at the Shangri-La and InterContinental many times before trying Conrad. They don't compare. I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in Dalian.
The Conrad Dalian is not a new Facility but is well maintained and in a great costal location. Staff is very accommodating and the level of English is great. The Breakfast in the Hilton Restaurant offers a great variety of western an Chinese food.
The hotel itself is fantastic, high-end finishes, seaside harbor views, warm bidet toilets (a great touch when its freezing outside during Dalian winters). That being said, it's also eerily empty. It's quite apparent that the whole hotel was built smack dab in the center of what will eventually be Dalian's new business district but those office high rises are all under construction it seems so the hotel sits largely vacant, which meant crazy low room rates for a Conrad and more support staff than guests. Which is a weird experience in and of itself.
Conrad Dalian is located close to seashore, a bit away from Dalian downtown. Dalian is not a big city, if the traffic is not very crowded, it just takes you about half an hour from airport to this hotel. And you could walk to metro station in 10 minutes if you prefer. Conrad Dalian shares the same building with Hilton Dalian, on separated floors and the receptions are independent. But the breakfast is provided in Hilton’s café. So you need to walk a long and dark tunnel before having breakfast. The decoration of the room is luxury, as least looks like. But it is too much French for me and personally I prefer Scandinavian style more. The security of the room is good, when you are watching TV and if someone ring the door bell, the camera video of front door will be projected to the TV so you could see who is outside the door. The executive lounge is disappointing, little choices of drink, bad food of happy hours, and the staff is rude and unprofessional. As a super 5 star hotel brank, the quality of executive lounge doesn’t match its reputation. The worst part is the service of reception. As diamond member of Hilton, when check in the reception insisted on that they can’t upgrade me to sea view but harbor view room, even nearly all sea view room are empty. I encountered this kind of problems many times if the hotel is owned by ‘Wanda’ group. So if you see ‘Wanda’ in a hotel’s name, put it on the bottom of your candidate list.
I had a Very comfortable stay. The staff are very professional and extremely nice people. Special thanks for Sunny Chen and her team in executive lounge. Thanks for Daniel and all staff I met in connard Dalian. You guys made this place feel like home.
This hotel is one of the best in the world. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff. The manager is always around making sure everything his perfect, although I don’t think he needs to be. 5 stars for sure.
Like this hotel, but after two years of visiting, I notice a lot of degradation in service and increase in pricing due to lack of traffic. unfortunately due to price, I will need to look for another hotel for my trip in 2 months.
I chose teh Conrad hotel for my first visit to Dalian for a 4 day conference. its modern, its clean and it has great rooms but it felt a little soul less. Service was attentive but didn't come naturally. Restaurant choice was very limited and the food was average at best. The building is shared and connected with the Hilton Hotel which has a more urban vibe and a better selection of restaurants
Came to Dalian for a business trip for 4 days. Great team big rooms and service atmosphere. In most of times I stay in Hilton but from now on will look for the Conard (Hilton and Conard are the same brand). The Conard is the high end of the Hilton group . Great business lounge . All in all a good place
My impression of this hotel was that it was exceptionally luxurious. The lobby was remarkably stylish and beautiful. It was like a dream! Our room was so clean and fashionable. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were very, very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, anywhere, but especially if they are to visit Dalian!
