Great hotel to stay: reasonable price, awesome service, fantastic food! The staff are very welcoming, warm and helpful. The views are good. I loved the swing bed on the yard. Breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour are all awesome and yummy!!
We went to Hilton for dinner on father’s day and we had great service, wonderful food and it wasn’t even expensive at all. Wonderful hospitality and atmosphere especially the reception. The desserts were okay the ice cream I wouldn’t recommend though.
This is one of the most underrated resorts we’ve ever stayed at - the entire resort is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are luxuriously fitted out. The executive lounge ranks as one of the most beautiful we’ve seen and the spread is small but lovely. We had an unfortunate beginning at Check-in when told that although we had made a specific request for an extra bed months in advance, they had decided to assign all the extra beds to a big conference delegation that had not even arrived on that day (not communicated to us of course but our private guide found out). Fortunately their service recovery was amazing and they upgraded us to a suite with a sofa which was made up into a bed. This was a suite with a bedroom and living room, and even a walk-in wardrobe as well as two amazing balconies with views of Erhai lake and the mountain! Breakfast was busy but the spread was excellent as well. This hotel made our trip to Dali very memorable and we will never forget the sunrise from our room.
We booked for four nights in Hilton Dali for our first trip to Dali, Yunnan. I would say this was a great choice for its excellent service and wonderful hospitality. The staff were sincere and very helpful. The moment you stepped into the lobby, you can enjoy the unblocked view of Lake Erhai. Overall, the facility is grand and beautiful. For those who want to visit Old town of Dali, it is about 15-20mins drive (if traffic condition is good) to the Old town of Dali. The hotel provide bus shuttle for the hotel guests at specified schedule, both ways. Since we travelled during the Golden week in May, best to book your seats in advance to avoid disappointment. I have attached a picture of the bus timetable for those who need it. Here's a few downsides that we experienced: 1. We were told we are not eligible for any points and elite nights for our four nights stay. Reason being because we used the third party payment option. There was a lack of proper explanation and poor information provided. 2. Next, we are not allowed to use the swimming pool because we don’t have a swim cap (we never need to wear swim cap for all the countries we visited). Unless you buy one over the counter at the price of RMB88. How do you expect foreigners to know about the rules and regulations. What a shame. If you are not comfortable to pay, you need to bring your own. 3. Our room on Tower 2, 3rd floor was spacious, clean and comfortable. However, we have to keep the curtain drawn up because of the ongoing construction site right outside our balcony. Such a pity that the balcony does not serve us any good during our stay. Most importantly, we like to show our appreciation and give thanks to these lovely staff. Thomas Yu, the gentleman in spectacle who was manning the concierge. He was so attentive to details and very helpful. He gave us suggestion of how to make our way to the Cangshan scenic area on foot from the hotel grounds. He came to offer his help when I wanted to buy the ice cream at the lobby when the cart has no one in sight. Exceptional service. Amy Zhang, the lovely lady who can recognise us after we had several meals in the Thai restaurant. Although it is only a one-time discount for the guest, we were glad to receive. Service with a great smile. Phoebe Zheng, a young lady who made sure our luggage are in good hands after we have done our check-out and left for sightseeing. Simple gesture like this made our day.
The hotel staff and rooms are excellent, as well as the location. The hotel lobby and rooms provide an excellent view of the lake. The gym and swimming pool are also great. However, what this hotel lack is better and cost realistic restaurants. The hotel is on the foot hills of a mountain about 10km away from the old Dali town. So if you are tired of a long day of sightseeing and you want to stay at the hotel for dinner, you better be ready to spend lots of money on over price Buffetts and when you try to order Ala Card they long wait will discourage anyone. Breakfast is not only pricy at 180rmb per person (dinner can be around 240rmb) but what is most discouraging is the limited variety and quality of food is not worth the money. Overall the service and hotel grounds are a pleasure to enjoy, but plan to eat outside if you would like to have variety and reasonable prices
This is my first time to travel Dali. I stay in Hilton for one day and i am really got relax and enjoy in my stay. You can see the Erhai lake and also see the sun raise in the room! I really recommend to stay in Hilton Dali hotel while you are planned to travel in Dali.
We enjoyed this hotel stay overall. However, I am very disspointing that we did not receive any points and elite nights for this stay and it is explained by hotel staff is that we used the third party payment promotion. It was not clearly explained by hotel staff during check in and it was my first time experience this problem at any Hilton property.
Very nice site for tourism. Beautiful views and interesting architecture that really deserves a visit. I enjoyed all days of my visit with good weather in April. the night life is very busy and lots of nice pubs and restaurants in the ancient city.
This is the best hotel I stayed during my whole Yunnan trip. The hotel is very clean, all the staffs are very nice. This trip is for a special occasion, so I sent an email to the hotel before the trip. The email was replied within one hour by Cathy, and everything is arranged. All the staff I met at the hotel are very nice and helpful. As a diamond member, my room was upgraded to a huge suite. The design of the hotel and rooms are modern and upscale, it is a pretty new hotel. My room is facing Erhai, it's perfect for taking sunrise pictures from the balcony in the morning. The room is really well equipped, bedding is very comfortable. Buffet breakfast has lots of varieties. We even get special treats every morning at breakfast as a Hilton member. There are warm milk and cookies delivered before bedtime every night. The hotel is located in a residential area, close to Chang Mountain. It's a little bit far from Dali Ancient town. But with the hotel's free shuttle service, it's convenient. I will definitely stay there again next time when I go to Dali.
This hotel is one of the few chained hotels in Dali and we are happy that we stayed with Hilton as two diamond elites even though the location proved to be rather inconvenient for tourists. First comparing costs with other hotels/inns in the old town, this Hilton offers tremendous value for room size/hardware, upgrade opportunities and overall attentive services. The lounge breakfast was quite average though it was never crowded during our stay. Dinner was on the other hand quite good and very affordable. Some rooms may have insufficient heating but you can request a heater if needed. Overall I see this hotel offering much better value and comfort level than those independent hotels within the old town.
