look I'll start of by saying it's in a good spot away from the Kaos if you want to just relax and unwind. but that's where the positives end. The place is extremely run down with dirty furnishings and fixtures. The pools are terribly dirty and staff are extremely hard to deal with. We had a expensive pair of swim wear stolen from inside our locked room when we were out? And could never resolve the issue with staff just pleading ignorance. All in all I would rather sleep on the side of the road rather than waist my money at this terrible resort.. Very unsatisfying
Yesterday we were searching for an beach near Hoi An. After a long trip we arrived at Monkey Mountain Da Nang. We couldn't find a beach with sunbeds so we went to Son Tra Beach Resort and asked the reception if it's possible to use their own private beach. For an lunch and drinks we were aloud. Great luxury place to enjoy your day at the beach.
We have just enjoyed a lovely 5 days at the Son Tra Resort & Spa. It's located on the Son Tra peninsular just past the Lady Buddha. It has a beautiful secluded beach with views looking back towards Da Nang and the mountain forests behind. The sea is great for swimming - clean and very warm. It's quiet and relaxing - perfect for a few days R&R. The villas are huge and we stayed in one on the beachfront with its own pool. They could do with a lick of paint but are more than comfortable. The Spa was good and good value. The food is simple but tasty and very reasonably priced. The bar / restaurant could do with a little paint and bit of love and attention but the staff more than make up with their warm welcome and great service. I'm sure we will be heading back in the future.
This hotel was not worth half the money we paid. The beach is pretty nice and the villas are very spacious, but service is horrible and food is terrible. The spa and housekeeping apparently closed/left at 5. There were bugs in the bathtub. In the middle of the night someone shined a flashlight into our bedroom. I do not recommend!!!!
Over priced villa, cold water in pool. Lacking maintenance, internet unserviceable. Poor food quality and over priced. Poor service, actually none!!! We arrived yesterday around 12:30 pm, at the reception we were told to pay cash, as the machine was inoperative. I said we don't have enough cash, so please fix the machine. My wife asked if they sell cigarettes. They lady behind the desk said take the free shuttle bus and go to town (Da Nang) to get cigarettes. Nice customer service to start with. We found cigarettes next door at fish restaurant next to the resort. Internet was not working at the villa, the entire stay we were there. Asked twice for maintenance personnel, but they were unable to fix the problem. Also the name Ocean view villa, is deceiving as we had no Ocean view at all (room 202). The villa is outdated and needs a serious upgrade, the outdoor shower bath and shower needs to be high pressure hosed, because of all the algae on the wall. The beds were Oke to sleep in. Generally the villa is so big, it actually misses charm. In the evening we ordered food for the kids. My daughter ordered tomato soup, they arrive with potato soup. Staff had no idea the difference between tomato and potato. Sounds almost the same, but completely different. However they were not embarrassed to charge 50000 VND on the bill as service charge (they brought the food to the villa). The breakfast was Oke, but below standard for the price you have to pay to stay there. We couldn't wait to check out and raced to Hoi An were we have a decent and much cheaper place to stay. For 278 US dollars a night, this place (son tra resort) is a rip off. One good thing, the location is amazing! They could make this place a gold mine, if they put way more effort in it. Tip: First start giving excellent service to your guests, so at least they feel welcome. All the best.
As simple as it can be to understand " do not go there" Overpriced extremely overpriced for what it is!!! Service inexistant and when you pay the rate they are asking you expect customer service ( help to find rental motobike or transport for example) also because it is located far from everything Very very poor maintenance everything is falling apart Expensive food
My partner and I stayed here for one night recently and were extremely disappointed! The beach and private pool were the only good thing about this place. There was no hot water so we called reception who send 'a technician' who basically spent 30 minutes pretending to fix the hot water by just turning it on and off again. There was also a sewerage smell throughout the villa, marks and holes in the walls, the 'hot tub' is a dirty hole in the ground outside and the restaurant is overpriced. We complained but the staff simply didn't care. If we hadn't paid much we probably would have let these things slide, but for $240 aud a night it was not worth it! Especially when we stayed in much much cheaper places in Vietnam which were 10 times nicer. I'd recommend going to son tra peninsula for a day trip and stay in Danang.
The beach is nice and the villas are spacious but the service is absolutely terrible. We booked and ocean view and there was no view at all of the ocean we were then were told we had to upgrade to an ocean front for 500,000 dong per night in order to see the water. Bathroom was dirty with bugs in the bath tub and about 10 minutes of hot water. Not nearly enough to fill the bathtub. Food is not good and room service is expensive. Far from city and taxis are about 200,000 each way. Shuttle stops at 14:00. Spa is supposed to be open until 22:00 but closed at 17:00 For the money, this hotel is absolutely not worth it. The private pool and beach front villa is pretty cool but bad cleaning and service and outdated buildings ruin the experience. Just stay on Da Nang beach for $50 a night.
We came for the day. Reception told us if we brought a meal & drink each we could use pool & beach which we were more than happy with. We went to the restaurant and all drinks are at least double what you'd pay anywhere else in Danang. Chicken noodle dish for 200,000 VN dong was the cheapest meal on the menu. Then there was a 15% service charge! But why? You're already paying double, isn't that enough?! They just rip you off here as they know there is nowhere else nearby you can eat, not a particularly nice feeling being here.
My children like this resort for their summer holiday. Each Villa has swimming pool n they can enjoy all day. Beach is not crowded as in the city. Restaurant is nice n staff is helpfull.price is bit expensive in season
