We stayed here with our travel group and it was so beautiful. The rooms were cozy, food delicious, and bar service excellent! The only problem was that we only stayed for one night! I'd love to go back and stay a couple of days to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape.
As we rode in the bus into the Sacred Valley we did not know what to expect at the restored monastery. Magnificent is what the universal reply from a busload of people. Beautiful gardens, great lobby and modern restored room. Great Wi-fy. Still exploring but this is a great place to spend your first night on the way to Machu Picchu. The altitude is lower than Cusco and you get a better chance to acclimate to the altitude.
We stayed in this hotel for one night on our way to Machu Picchu. The hotel has a fairly huge lobby with two wings on either side, one old wing with colonial architecture and one new wing with modern style. The check-in was quite fast. Initially we were allotted a room in the old wing. This room studio had a living room and bath at the ground level and a bedroom up the stairs. Since my wife and myself are in our sixties, we expressed our difficulty to the porter who had accompanied us. We were anyway adjusting to the room as we thought that it was just for a day. However, we got a call from the front desk informing us that since they got the information that we are not happy, they are upgrading us to a room in the new wing at no extra charge. They changed our room and transferred our baggage. We were highly impressed by this very good attitude of the staff. The new room was excellent, quite big and with all amenities including a coffee maker. The room heater was not heating the room adequately as it was very cold in January. On learning this, the staff arranged for an additional heater to our room. The breakfast spread was awesome and offered choices for vegetarians like us also. All in all a very good experience.
What a great hidden location. Off the main road so road noise was not an issue. The gardens and grounds are very impressive. Found out after we departed that it was a monastery. Great choices of places to eat in relation to the size.
I think it’s a little updated, but my boyfriend thinks it goes with the style. Needs renovations without lose the colonial style. The room service staff was very kind. They received us with chocolates and smiles!
Can't talk about value because this hotel was booked as part of our tour, but comfortable bed, GREAT bathroom, good WiFi, excellent service. Would have like to stay another night! Beautiful grounds. Even when I was walking around the parking lot to complete my 10K steps in the dark, the staff passed me and greeted me.
We stayed here for one night on our way to Aguas Calientes/Machu Pichu. The landscaping and gardens were beautiful against the backdrop of the mountains and the architecture of the hotel. We had pizza at one of the restaurants in the hotel, which was very good. Would recommend staying here en route to Machu Pichu.
This a great place to stay. Everyone was polite and helpful. A walk around the gardens was a pleasant bonus as city hotels do not have these. The food was varied and cooked well. A decent choice at breakfast is always welcome. Room more than adequate.
I came back from Peru and my favorite hotel by far was this one! The views from the hotel are breathtaking and you feel so cozy- the staff was very nice, too. It gets very chilly during the day and can get very cold at night so it is good to bring warm clothing.Strolling in the gardens was one of my favorite things in the hotel. I would recommend everyone to stay in this hotel.
This was an excellent hotel; stunning vistas, beautiful gardens, superb service, comfortable rooms, ample amenities, and a great restaurant. Everything about our stay was perfect.... until 3 am. The stray cats that lounge about the property decided to have a cacophonous soiree at the witching hour right outside my room. So there I am in my pj's, half naked, chasing off cats in the gardens by moonlight. It's funny now thinking back, but I was not happy in the moment. I'm honestly surprised that the nightwatchman never heard the concert, and that I was the one to crash their party. Ah well, NBD, an otherwise lovely stay!
