Good location, for walking around the city. Also nice breakfasts, bar and restaurant. An all around great place to stay while visiting Cusco. Plus a spa for relaxing after a long day of exploring the amazing city.
Comfortable rooms, some surrounding an open courtyard. Well equipped bathroom Lovely breakfast. Helpful staff including on reception who helped with booking trips and taxis. Nice small bar area again with good staff. Bit of a trek to the main square if you had to do it a few times in a day.
This hotel is on Avenue Sol which is the main area of Cusco. It is mere minutes from the Market square. It is close to shopping and restaurants. Just opposite to this hotel is a huge markets with thousands of locally made hand crafted items
The hotel is great, we stayed there for two nights. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and had a nice view. Breakfast was the best, after having spent three weeks in cheap hostels with no breakfast at all. Only thing was, we are in our thirties but the rest of the guests were all over 60. Doesn’t really affect your stay, but if you’re looking to have a good time with some fellow guests, a hostel might be a better idea.
I have only good things to say about my experience at the Eco Inn. From the great rooms, delicious buffet/made to order breakfasts and fantastic staff, I will always come back to stay here when I'm in Cusco. One of the major highlights was happy hour in the bar with Alex the bartender. I've never experienced a more accommodating, perceptive and friendly mixologist in my life. He anticipates every need without hovering whatsoever, leaving me feeling well taken care of while allowing uninterrupted engagement/conversation with friends. I dare you to find a better made Pisco Sour in Latin America than his. I cannot wait to return!
My stay at the Eco Inn was as part of an overall Peru travel package offered by Gate1 Travel. As a result, I believe we got a monumentally great deal on this hotel, which advertises rates in the $150-$200 range. Our rate was SUBSTANTIALLY less than that through the tour. It would still be worth the higher rates, but I can't be certain of those rates. The property is very modern and up-to-date, which allayed some concerns I had about travel to this region. They boast a beautiful atrium/lobby, glass elevators, and a gorgeous dining area. There was an excellent hot breakfast. Located right across the street from an artisan's market, which is the best place for buying souvenirs. They are substantially cheaper there than in other areas near attractions.
We stayed here twice (4 nights in total) on a tour of Peru. The first night we were spoilt and had a lovely large room complete with coffee machine ( these seem to be in short supply in the hotels in Peru ) the room no if I recall was 326 or 327 and was at the end of a corridor and nice and quiet. With the Wifi connection quite good. The market across the road was an absolute bargain for all your locally produced clothing and nic nacs. You can also change money here with the second best exchange rate I got in all of Peru. It's 10-15 min uphill walk to the beautiful square passed the Courts of Justice half way up The receptionists were very helpful. Cocoa tea is on tap in reception. Note do not take some back to the UK as although totally harmless it is regarded as a Class A drug back home The breakfast had enough variation, and they will cook eggs / omelettes on request. The bread rolls are so soft and fresh were probably the best part along with the great coffee On the second stay the room was a lot smaller and the wash basin was not in the bathroom but in the bedroom. Also no coffe machine ( but reception got me one when asked for ) this room was more central and quite close to the lift and you could hear the noise from the restaurant ( room 417 ). The wifi was hit and miss in this room
Sadly the internet issues we experienced over the 2 days marred our overall view of this hotel. Sketchy and then no-existent internet in the bar both days, reception logged us in on a different code but still not very good and didn't work at all in our 4th floor room. This made our planning for the next few days impossible. Not impressed! On the flip side everything in the hotel was great, nice staff, clean and comfortable. Big shower in room and comfortable bed. Could do with vanity mirror and hairdryer. Breakfast was pretty standard European, scrambled eggs undercooked but otherwise ok. A good base for exploring Cusco but get your internet sorted guys, it lets you down
Nice hotel and no major issues. Truly a great hotel across a very nice artesanal market. Awesome location! The only suggestion is they may need to train some of their breakfast staff in the dining area better or fire some. I asked a server if a particular food was vegetarian and he said yes. I bit into it only to find ham inside the shell. I was shocked. I decided to have fun and test him the next day...The next day the same waiter told me quickly that all items on a particular table were vegetarian, which was not the case, when I asked him the same question. Probably the other waiters are more client service centric and this particular one is just one bad apple. Lucky for him I didn´t complain on the spot and decided to let it go.
We enjoyed a very comfortable two days at this hotel. The check in was easy, the rooms were spacious and clean and the bathroom, although small was still fine. The water pressure in the shower was soothing and was most welcome after all the walking we did. The buffet for breakfast was more than adequate and consisted of eggs, sausage, cheese, ham, fruits, cereal, bread, a variety of jams and honey and variety of juices. The front desk staff were always helpful and willing to give advice. The wifi was fine at times and slow at times. Altogether this was a nice comfortable stay.
