We were on the cruise ship Carnival Vista when we stopped at this port Curacao. We enjoyed this island. It had a nice quant feel to it. Apparently the buildings take a beating from the constant salt so there is a project to help restore homes and historic landmarks. The repaired structures have such character, it is clear to see that Curacoa is trying hard to maintain their Dutch architecture. After our narrated drive through the plantation homes we ended up at Blue Bay beach cove. This area of beach is very nice with newer townhomes. The cove is large with crystal clear water that drops off to a deep blue. You can definitely take some gorgeous pictures at this beach cove. We snorkeled and saw an abundant variety of fish and coral. I didn’t want to get out of the water. There is a restaurant beach bar and the food looked amazing. We were passengers on the cruise ship, Carnival Vista, and the tour is called ‘Beach Day Express.’ It was a great way to see the island and snorkel its beautiful reefs. I would definitely go back to Curacao, and this beach again.
I stayed in Apt . 40 which was a 2bedroom, 2 1/2 bath. The apt was beautiful as well as the view. Upon entering the apt. I saw a birthday card and bottle of wine left by the owner for my birthday, awesome. The beach was beautiful, the beach bar was great and the food was delicious. If you are planning to leave off the resort, you will need to rent a car.
We enjoyed our stay here. We booked "run of the House" and we had a 2 bathroom and 2 bedroom Appartement near the Pool. The Beach was nice and the Service was good. We would come back to Play Golf as the course looked really good ( but we just started playing Golf!)
The beach is really nice. It's $8 each to get in and u get beds and shade. No towels. The restaurant on the beach has the slowest careless service and I do not recommend eating here. Food is overpriced and below average. Ordered a $18 watermelon salad and it came without watermelon. When we told the waiter they brought us a plate of the slimiest overripe small watermelon. What a joke. Don't waste your money here.
I stayed here with my family (two young kids) for two weeks. We booked the run-of-the-house and ended up in a 2 bed 2 bath garden bungalow around a swimming pool shared by maybe 20 bungalows. Most of the time we were alone in the pool. I did a couple of house reef dives while wife and kids where relaxing and playing on the beach. Our daughter loved the kids club. Prices for drinks at the beach bar were a bit steep, but I suppose that's what you get in a luxury golf resort. Didn't see much activity on the golf greens, perhaps because it was too hot in August.
I was lucky enough to spend a few hours at this wonderful beach last week. It did cost 8 dollars per adult to enter the property but it was worth it. Chairs were included I the price and we sat by the cool clear water. Buckets of beer cost 21 for six small size brus... Loved it here.
My husband and I recently stayed at this development for a week. All of the staff was wonderful. Joel the bar manager was especially attentive and remembered my husband and I even days later on a very busy evening. I would like to say a special thank you to Mosje at the dive center. I love the ocean and snorkeling but have always been terrified to dive. My husband convinced me to do the resort's discover diving class. Mosje was our instructor. It ended up being just the three of us. The class portion was great. But once we hit the water to do some practical work I panicked. Mosje was the best coach ever. He was patient always and kind. He took his time to help me get comfortable step by step. He stayed with me the whole time making sure I was ok, keeping eye contact with me so I didn't panic and making sure I knew I was still close to the top of the water. Before I knew it he had me following him but swimming backwards so I could see him right in front of me all the while helping my husband enjoy the sights as well. He began to point out to me the beautiful underwater garden and the small and lovely inhabitants. I didn't even realize we had gone close to 40 ft. I can't imagine a more perfect scenario for me to finally conquer that fear. I will forever be grateful to Mosje for his instruction, kindness, patience and commitment to sharing the beauty below.
Me and my boyfriend ended up here for asking our cab driver to take us somewhere relaxing. We only had the one afternoon off of the cruise ship but this was an excellent way to spend it. Joel the host made sure we had a good time from the moment we showed up. Cold drinks, hot sun, and yummy food. PS, tell him your from Texas to really get him talking.
At this very moment we are on blue bay beach with 16 friends, locals, makamba's (..) and dutch on holiday's. It takes a long long time before one of the 4 waiters behind the bar is willing to take our order. The ordered and paid snacks just dont show up and 1 hour later the only waiter behind the bar is trying to ignore people who wang to order.... What the hell is going on here?!?!?!
We booked a unit in The Hill. Requested high up with nice view but were stashed on the lowest floor overlooking the parking lot. This unit looked tired and run down and not very clean. After making a complaint we were moved the next day to a different unit on the fourth floor. What a difference a day makes! Much better but this unit needs some DIY as the shower door was missing, drawers were broken, windows were leaking. Price/quality was not up to par. The beach area was very nice, ample beach chairs, choice between sun and shade. Food and drinks are ridiciliously expensive, service slow but that might just be carribean charm ;) Staff at the resort is friendly and accommodating. No free WiFi at The Hill but there's free internet at the beach. Not always werking but we could make do! You'll need a car staying at this resort of you want to go shopping or to other beaches. It's possible to not leave the resort though if you don't want to. Bring enough cash/your creditcard ;)
