I was due a short break and fancied taking my two dogs with me so we could explore the area. PThe hotel is well located for a day out in the south lakes and is very pet friendly. The rooms are fresh and clean and you wouldn’t know that a pet had put a foot in them. I’m very fussy about cleanliness and smells! It’s a really handy location at a reasonable price too.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Going northbound it’s a long way around to get to hotel which is Southbound. Middle of nowhere. McDonald’s and Costa on site- costa close at 8 - we were told 9. Maccy and W H Smith 24 hours. Next time I will only stop on the way home. Better options further up the motorway going Northbound. All this said super location overlooking the lake it self
Clean, spacious, reasonably priced room with a lovely view. Everything worked in the room but does need some updating, particularly in the bathroom. However, would still stay again if needing a stopover.
Exactly the right location for a stopover on our journey. Clean, welcoming staff and really good hot water!
Very disappointed with this property. No hairdryer although fitting there for one, bathroom needs updating. Radiator all dirty. Poor housekeeping obvious. E.g. Around lights, mirror. Only good thing was comfort of bed.
We booked this hotel for a one night stay. Travelled with our two children and dog. Hotel set in a lovely location, our room was looking out over the lake. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had obviously been cleaned well but there was quite a bad smell, I think the carpets might need replacing. The bathroom looked a little dirty, but it was just very worn. There was quite a bit of mould in the bathroom and around the window in the bed room. For the price we paid, we found the stay generally acceptable. Staff and location redeemed it. Also just want to be clear, I don't think the problems were with lack of cleaning; I think the hotel just needs a bit of a refit.
I stay at Dsys while away on business and will still do so in the future because of their great value. But Killington is in need of a referendum as the furniture and decor are old and tired. The bed was good as always but the old curtains, bedside tables and sink need replacing. The staff were great and I think some of the problems are the service area is not a great one and lacks some facilities like a proper breakfast with only a Costa or McDonalds for any food
This is a very basic accommodation. The view was beautiful. Though not a lake, it’s actually a reservoir. The price was extremely cheap. However if you want to get to the nearest town of Kendal the price is ott & hard to get a taxi. It was £40 return. So bare this in mind if you are travelling around. Fantastic that they take dogs. The only reason for not having a 5 is the furniture is very tired & old & needs upgrading. Also For eg the bath looks dirty but just very worn. Fine for overnight though.
Beautiful outlook from the bedroom over the lake. The room and bathroom decor were a bit tired, albeit absolutely functional. Though close to motorway it was very peaceful, would definitely stay again, very competitively priced. Reception was effecitiant and friendly.
This motel if in a scenic position located next to a lake however it is only accessible on the south bound m6. Reception was lovely but that's where it stopped. The room smelled on entering, there was mold on the shower head and in the bath and on walls. No plug in the sink, taps loose. The double bed was the most uncomfortable we have slept in with no support at all. The pillows were virtually non existent. But the view from the window was great
