interesting hotel, with a culture bias on it's premises and decoration. There is not much service as people to help with luggage, at least at our arriving and departure times, vallet service (there is a parking place nearby, but you have to get de remote control at reception), there is no concierge but you can try to ask for info at the reception! The location is very nice, near the Cathedral. Very nice bathroom on the suite!
Expect to be surprised by the good taste of 21st Italy in a medieval town. Service kind and helpful, internet outstanding, rooms comfortable and the design original and interesting. Breakfast adequate but no lavish (which is OK), the coffee very good.
Please go to Cremona when the International Music Academy and Competition has their concerts, they are wonderful. This hotel is just outside the noise of the central area but close enough to the violin makers and best two restaurants. La Sosta and Il Violino. The distances to the Museo Di Violino is short and an easy walk. The city is clean, prideful and safe. The main church is one minute away. Don't try and eat lunch late, everything closes at 2:00, then reopens at 7:30 until 10:00. The city comes alive on Thursday evenings in July. There was a women's volleyball match and hundreds of people and great music.
The hotel is centrally located, and it has a convenient parking not far away from the hotel entrance. Apart from these plusses, I was deceived during my stay by the claustrophobic atmosphere and by the lack of personnel. No car valet, no luggage valet. I had to bring my own luggages along a long corridor which looked much like a bunker. The room would have been fine, had it not been for the stale smell, probably caused by the choice of moquette for the flooring, an unfortunate one given that the (wonderful!) city of Cremona suffers from humid weather. The lack of personnel was also evident at breakfast. After 12 min trying to have a pancake machine working and looking for a waiter for help, another guest of the hotel informed me that the machine has been out of order since a few days. No "out of order" panel was visible, though.
The good points of this hotel include its location close to the Duomo and the main squares. The rooms are clean and you can reserve parking in their garage. The bad points are that the beds in the twin rooms are very narrow, the bathrooms are small and the baths incorporating the shower are tiny. The irritating points are that wifi is limited to two devices per room and check-out is at 10am. The overall feel is really of a three star hotel and it is not very good value.
We chose this hotel for a quick one-night stopover. The location is great, a few steps from the Duomo, and the parking garage across the road is very convenient. All the staff members were very courteous and kind to our family. The junior suite was clean and spacious enough for two adults and two small children, which is what you expect for the price. However, the overall vibe and decor seemed a bit "fashion before function". Some of the common areas, such as hallways, are in need of maintenance. Also, there were no high-chairs in the breakfast room.
If this is billed as a four star hotel the grading system needs to be reviewed. In my thirty years of business travel I have NEVER stayed in a hotel that doesn't have ironing facilities. That's right, not even an iron to borrow for use in your room. If they are seeking business travellers this needs to be rectified as crisply ironed shirts are a must for meetings, conferences, etc. I was told they didn't offer irons because previous guests had burned bed sheets and curtains. Implausible at best. Bed was uncomfortable, breakfast was basic. PUT IT RIGHT
We stayed here for two nights on our stay in Cremona. This is a modern hotel with a professional and helpful staff. A nice breakfast buffet was included. Only complaint was the bed, which was much firmer than we are used to. The hotel is in the center of the city, close to the beautiful duomo, many good restaurants, and the fantastic violin attractions and luthiers.
Lovely hotel with helpful staff. But plumbing and ventilating systems are noisy. Rooms are uncomfortable: telephone is on a desk on the opposite wall to the bed; bed has no headboard but a recessed area; many undefined electrical switches; no TV channel guide.
The location and the place are very good, the rooms are original, the breakfast is not so extensive. The parking place in the garage it is quite small for big cars, but can be managed. The personal of the hotel is very friendly and opened to help YOU.
