I was in Cremona Palace Hotel during a business trip. A very stylish hotel with wooden floor, very big rooms confortable stay and a very nice restaurant. The personnel was really friendly and speak fluent English. The plus is the fact it was only about 6 or 5 km from town but you can enjoy the silence of nature have a nice and quit sleep.
Imposing building, plenty of free parking, probably the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Wooden floor, immaculately tiled bathroom - spotlessly clean, big double bed, lovely terrace and fantastic view of sunrise. Slept well, almost eerily quiet. Breakfast nothing to write home about but adequate. There is a stench, in the flatlands area around the hotel, of organic fertiliser. We assume it’s a seasonal thing and totally not a fault of the hotel management. Staff polite to a fault. A well deserved 5 stars.
Our trip to Italy included stays in 3 separate hotels and the Cremona palace was by far the best! We were warmly welcomed and checked in promptly. Our room was huge! Giant king size bed, very large balcony with a beautiful view - and amazing sunsets - bathroom was also huge and immaculate! Staff were always warm and friendly, we woke late on our first morning and missed breakfast, no problem, the staff arranged for breakfast and fresh coffee for us. A great base for us as we have family in the area, close to Cremona but out with the busy town centre. Very quiet in the evenings. I highly recommend!!
Great resting place some 6 kms from the town. My room was very spacious, and had a large terrace (15 square meters) overlooking the green countryside. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a wonderful rest. This is a "on the road" hotel, ideal if you are driving by.
The Cremona Palace Hotel certainly isn't a "palace" - at best it is an average business hotel that can be found in small cities throughout the US. The facility is fairly run down - the parking lot looks abandoned with weeds growing everywhere. Food is average at best. Unfortunately, Cremona does not have much in the way of alternatives so it might be your only option but certainly can't be recommended.
A really nice hotel. Have never stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the service and accommodation. The rooms and bathroom facilities are very good. The very comfortable bed was huge. The only complaint I would make was the lack of English language TV channels. i.e. BBC World Service
I was surprised to read the recent reviews of the Cremona Palace Hotel in Sant´Abramo because my experience was so much better than what the last reviewers wrote. My colleague and myself had booked to hotel on a very short notice since all hotels in Parma were booked out. I had room 217 and paid 76 EUR for the night incl. breakfast. What we liked + Very friendly service - the service staff tried to cancel another booking I had and gave me a special discount. + Large restaurant with good atmosphere. Friendly service and good food + Very fast free Internet + Large free parking + Large rooms with good beds What we did not like - heating is only forced air (Air conditioning) and it was difficult to get the room to a normal temperature - water pressure too low so the shower is hardly useable - noise level is higher than usual at night - breakfast is OK but nothing special. But I believe this is good Italian standard since I have had much worse breakfasts in other Italian hotels. Most things provided are sweet and neither bread nor sausage is really of a good quality. I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in this region.
Fantastic hotel. The staff were outstanding down to the smallest details. My room was impeccable, truly no complaints. I stayed for 2 nights. I had awesome (and tasty) breakfasts in there every morning. Highest quality drinks and food; a remarkable home away from home. I will definitely stay here again next time. Well done Best Western Hotel!
Two stays in this hotel within the same week. The first was simply OK, in general but as the second one was horrible, I'll concentrate in the second one. After a trip into different Italian areas, we came back to this hotel, chosen as our operational basis. Knowing that we would arrive later evening, we called them early that same morning to inform them and everything seemed OK. Finally, we reached the hotel at 23,15 h. There was one receptionist who was very kind from the very beginning, supposedly watching our tired faces, after a long car drive. When reaching our room, I noticed the air conditioning was not working (August night, around 27 Celsius degrees). Call reception and first symptoms that something wasn't going properly. No other chance that go down again and ask him what happened. Only answer was there was a general malfunction in the system and that he was alone there. Only option then was to change the room. Come upstairs again, check the new room and the air conditioning that was working to ask my family to change the room, with my son, already sleeping. Change the room and after 5 minutes, we noticed that the air conditioning was working properly but impossible to readjust the temperature and fan control. Furthermore, the mini bar was only filled with one Coke and one Fanta. No water, at all. Come down again and this time, really upset. The receptionist was now really nervous and he contacted with somebody, to whom he explained the situation but apparently without any solution. He offered me the possibility of another room change but he should check it first. I accepted and came back to my second "frozen" room, where my family was already sleeping, all with extra sheets, due to the 21 degrees. After 15 minutes, nobody appeared and I renounced to do anything else, being my family completely frozen but asleep. Next morning, I was optimistically awaiting some comments / apologies from somebody at the Reception Desk but nothing happened. In view of this, I decided not to fill in the Hotel Complaint Book, paid the bill and explain this story here, for all international readers. Being a usual customer of Best Western, I consider this situation as completely unacceptable and we will never sleep in this hotel chain, again, if possible. Let me also say as a conclusion, that breakfast was really poor. Rooms were, as usual, big and spacious, with a very comfortable bed and last thing was the ridiculous management of the pool, owned by a external Club, which required an extra payment and a complicated trip to get in.
As a regular reviewer of great hotels and service it's a shame i have to do my first very poor review! I booked this hotel on route to Ancona via Booking.com. Unfortunately I broke down in the gottardo tunnel and informed the hotel at 10pm that i wouldn't be able to make my reservation. I would expect a small cancellation fee, but to charge the whole cost of the booking i think is despicable given the circumstances. Despite calling the hotel again and explaining the situation they were off hand and showed no understanding of the situation. BEWARE if you have to ever cancel this hotel they will not listen or give any empathy. Stay well away!
