Secluded beach so no beach vendors. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Arrived on a Monday and checked out the following Monday. We requested and stayed in one of the quieter rooms facing the tennis courts. Most of the week they were not at full capacity so no real line ups at the buffet or any of the bars. Had a couple opportunities to visit the al a carte restaurant up on the hill which has a very lovely ambiance and great food. The buffet was varied and there was a section to cook a fresh breakfast and lunch. One night the entire buffet was moved to the outdoor entertainment area on the other side of the tennis courts which was a nice touch and no small effort. Friday saw a few tourist buses unload all sorts of nationals most with families, which changed the complexion of the resort and the line ups grew a little longer but a few more staff were there to handle this so not a great inconvenience. It seemed to me that everybody was relaxed and having a good time with the children playing all over the place which we didn't mind but some people may not be able to tolerate. On Saturday afternoon some of the baby turtles started to come out of their nests so as a crowd gathered, mostly children, we were all able to participate in the turtle release. These buses were back on Sunday and all the families piled on which returned the resort to the semi quiet that we had experienced when we first arrived. All in all a relaxing week which has created some good memories.
We stayed in Los Angeles Locos in January 2017. We did not expected much, it was listed as 3 star hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel is good, the room we had, was a suite with gorgeous view of the ocean and huge terace. Food was typical Mexican menu, but very tasty. Staff was wonderful, so were the mostly Mexican guests. The beach is very wide, good to walk on, and swimming was also good. It is a Pacific, so the color is not as you would have at the Caribbean sea, but the mountain views make-up for the lack of color. The only down site of the place was occasionally smelly hallways (sewer smell). We were sorry we could not stay longer - our vacation was cut by management from 7 to 5 nights (for some private celebration). It is quiet place, perfect for family with children. there is not much going on at night. It is approx. 45 min. from Manzanillo airport (very curvy road, don't go at night, it is dangerous driving).
We were in Los Angeles Locos in January 2016 for the 4th time. They were recovering from Hurricane Patricia but you would never know it. The place was awesome. The staff was great. Food was good and the rooms were clean with new mattresses. The beach is awesome. It is a very private resort and a great way to relax. We love this resort. Not too many Canadians while we were there but lots of Mexican families. They were terrific and a joy to get to know. We are going again in January 2017 if we can.
Staff, at every level, works so hard to please! Clean rooms & grounds! Beautiful Beach! Authentic Mexican food! Major recovery from Hurricane Patricia! New Mattresses! Our third visit - we will go back! Quiet & peaceful...
the rooms were pretty good, however i was staying with my boyfriend, and they only had two double beds, and no way to upgrade to a king. so we had to cuddle together pretty squished, or didnt sleep together at all. kind of a bummer. however the beach was incredible! the food was decent, but as a vegetarian there were not many options. also we went there expecting many activities during the day, and yet none were actually offered, and we had to ask many times for people to do the things advertised (yoga, Spanish classes, dance classes etc).
I've been in this hotel a lot and quite long time ago, but it never changed during those years. The rooms are nice and the staff is very helpful and nice. They try to speak english even if they can not and trying to help in every way if you ask for something. Back than they were collecting turtle eggs and taking care of those until the little turtles are strong enough to start their journey in the ocean. When it is time you as a guest can hold one tiny turtle and let it free. It is such an emotional experience! But the food... I got bad stomach several times and a serious food poisoning once. Also the staff doesn't eat there, they said the kitchen is nasty. If you are there for a longer time you can clearly see that they are using the left overs as new food. I recommend a room what doesn't face the pool otherwise you gonna wake up for the loud bingo every single morning. Also you won't hear your own voice if there is a show going on (what is extremely unprofessional and lame).
This hotel is in a gorgeous bay. I felt lucky to stay in such an exclusive location with a nature backdrop. The views driving in are beautiful. It's worth the drive. The hotel is not too big so it never felt crowded. Your always close to everything(beach, room, food, bar) The food was really good quality. When I was there they had theme nights that were really fun outside. Of all my trips to Mexico the staff here still stands out to me as the best. I would go back for sure.
I have been coming to this hotel for over 20 years. It was extremely fun as a kid. As a young professional, this place is a glorified cage. There is no where to go and nothing to do. That is the sole reason my mom likes to hold family reunions here. No one can escape. It is essentially in the middle of no where and you are forced to hang out with whoever you went with. Kids will love this place. The beach is pretty safe for them. This is definitely a family hotel. Very safe. As of now I am planning to stay away until I get married and have kids.
Remodeled hotel, rooms with a Mediterranean style, the food excellent, the boat rides and horse are included, always have some activity, the show is good, the disco is with varied music, with 1000 meters of private beach.
Our room was comfortable and spacious (we stayed in one of the ocean view jr. suites), but we had to climb several flights of stairs to get to it. Also, the balcony was covered in bird poop that probably hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The food was good, in that it was real Mexican food, but I got sick while there, so I'm assuming it was because of the food. The pools are big and they have a nice area for little ones, but the water was cloudy and super gross looking. They close the pools early too. The beach looks lovely, and during the day when the sand is scorching hot, the water is warm and wonderful. But be warned that when the sun goes down and the sand is a tolerable temperature, the sand fleas come out and you will be covered in bites from the knee down. I just felt like everything that could have been great was always ruined by something. This hotel has lots of potential if they just took more pride in the details.
