We are currently at this hotel having been coming for 52 years as a family and we love it. It is a family run hotel and it does what it says on the tin. We find all the staff lovely including the head waiter Vincent. He ensures the restaurant runs smoothly at all times. There are some basic house guidelines such as taking a tray and not taking food out of the dining room. There are two sittings for dinner just be on time and you won't have a problem most complaints are when people flout the guidelines and believe they don't apply to them. The food is plentiful and nicely cooked. There is something for everyone's tastes. Don't take any notice of poor reviews book a sea facing room and enjoy your stay.

Having read mixed reviews, I was a bit apprehensive. I really needn't have worried. We had bed and breakfast for 1 week at a very reasonable price. The room was functional. Nice sized bathroom and terrace. Beds were a bit hard but not an issue. I had read many reviews criticising the restaurant manager for being a tad overzealous. I was presently surprised. He was lovely and very amiable. The Breakfast selection was vast. Continental type with lots of cold meats and cheeses. Croissants, pastries, bread rolls. Hot breakfast too. Eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, churros. Cereal, fruit hot drinks and juice. Yes, the bacon and sausage is Spanish but it's in Spain, so why would you expect anything else? All the staff were very polite and helpful, from the reception staff to the house keepers. Room cleaned every day. I think next time, I will book a sea view as we were overlooking the hotel next door. The location is great, on the seafront. Many thanks for a great stay. Will definitely stay again.

All in all this isn't a bad place to stay. the good points first Friendly staff Decent sized balcony Close to the beach They could improve on Breakfast. Not sure anyone fancies chicken nuggets or spring rolls left over from the night before for breakfast. Can't comment on lunch or dinner as I did not experience these. Free WiFi in rooms. People expect this these days. Now for the big no no's Charging 42 euros for air con because we booked though a third party. Apparently it's free if you book direct. I've never heard anything so stupid in my life. Charging 30 euros for the the safe (10 euros back on check out. Most places 15 euros, 10 back on checkout) 10 euros for TV remote. No fridge in room. I suppose you do get one in the more expensive rooms but from my experience of other Spanish hotels, a fridge is standard. Our room was tiny. When I book a double room I don't expect two single beds pushed together or a bathroom door that doesn't open all the way without hitting the toilet. This hotel is great for one or two nights but not for a week or two holiday. You'll soon tire of the same breakfast options everyday and paying extra for things that come as standard in other hotels.

Swift and friendly check-in by the woman with glasses and straight to the room. The room was small but way better than some i've stayed in before in Calella. Massive wardrobe with detachable hangers! Lots of space! Beds were also better than anywhere i've stayed in Calella (been going for 13 years). The bathroom shower was the worst though, the water trickled out the shower head which wasn't great. There was little noise from other rooms and the balcony of good proportion. There was a problem - the air conditioning! We asked to pay the €10 deposit for the control but we were told we hadn't even paid for air conditioning in the first place. I booked with Travel Republic and i read over what i booked and there were no erratas stating that air con will be €6 a night (the guy at the check-in said it's usually €10 a night). I understand this is Travel Republic's fault though and the reception said it's not the first time this had happened with them. They are owned by the same company i work for so i will be getting my money back - if this is disputed further, then i'll be contacting the hotel myself. I enjoyed the meals as i went full board, however, the head waiter is definitely rude. I understand they work long hours but you are in a customer facing role. His attitude and manner is what let him down; it almost felt awkward everytime you went into the dining room. There was always something he commented on - felt like a school dinner hall in that sense. We only had 1 hour at lunch and dinner and if you didn't arrive at your designated time, he commented or made it known. We even witnessed a family being told to leave when they had full plates of food and it wasn't busy, at all. What a waste of food - it would have all went in the bin. I understand you need to abide by things, but when there are lots of tables empty, that's stupid. Pint of Estrella Damm is only €2.50. Before we left for our flight, we used the showers and it was €4, €3 deposit and they keep €1 - this is for the towels. I loved the terrace that looked over the sea and enjoyed having a beer, relaxing. I don't think it's a 2 star though, it's definitely a 3. Despite my comments, the only real problem was the head waiter. I LOVE CALELLA!

Currently staying here love this hotel. Staff are friendly and the food is nice. Always plenty of fresh salad and bread so you couldn't starve. Excellent value for money I booked with on the beach paid 954 for half board. They don't have much entertainment but you can't expect to much given it school holiday time and price paid. My girls are 8 and 11 and think the hotel is nice. View is ok we can see mountains and sea on the other side. You could book direct with hotel if you really want a sea view. Definitely be back next year!!

Great place for families, the staff love kids. A nice pool, really friendly staff. Yes, it's a little outdated but it's clean and comfortable, exactly what you need. Air conditioning that works, a balcony and a bed. Right on the beach too! You don't go on holiday to stay inside all day.

well ,,read a lot of reviews about this hotel and wasnt expecting wrong could I have been. booked sea view room and as for the rooms bieng basic well ours was huge..king size bed, bedside cabinets, overbed lighting, dressing table with huge mirror, fridge, flat screen tv, walk in wardrobe ,huge bathroom, and as for the being only 1 electric socket we had 5 in room 1 in walkin wardrobe and 1 in bathroom. lovely balcony with sea and mountain view. the room was cleaned evey day and was in fact so clean I could be mistaken for thinking nobody had stayed in there before us, apparently the man on breakfast duty is supposedly very rude, we found the opposite, always gave us a smile and a buenos dias, breakfast was quite good, selection of cold meats and cheese, warm bread rolls ,yogurt fresh fruit, pastries, juices, hot selection wasnt vast but selection changed daily, bar staff were very pleasant ,amazing flamenco show, pool was small but we didnt struggle for sunbeds, reception staff pleasant and helpfull. train track runs across the road from hotel but they dont run all night so no sleep issues,

We arrived at this hotel in the middle of the night following a flight delay however we were still met with a warm welcome and friendly smile. The room was clean and a large size with lovely sea views. It has air con and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was plentiful and we had a different meal every day. It is a 3 min walk to the beach and less than 10 mins into the town centre. On check out the manager offered to make us a coffee despite the breakfast not being open, another example of their great hospitality. Overall this place is a little gem, perfect location, clean rooms and friendly staff. We are already planning our return trip and haven't even left the airport yet!

Just come back from a 3 night stay and my boyfriend and I loved this hotel. I have worked in hotels for over 10 years and although this hotel is a 2* I personally think it could be 3*. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly from the housekeepers to the reception staff. We had a sea view on the 6th floor so had great views over Calella. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Fluffy towels, shower gel, shampoo and soap provided. Breakfast was good, somethings changed daily which was nice. Plenty of fresh fruit, cold meats and pastries. Hot food provided wasn't what I would personally eat but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. The bar area was lovely and relaxing, drinks are reasonably priced, they also do a cocktail of the day for 3.50 euro. Pool area is small but we still managed to sunbath each day and swim without feeling like it was overcrowded. The location is perfect, right in the centre of everything and across the road from the beach. I booked the hotel direct as I prefer to save hotels the commission and often you can get a better deal. Reservations staff were helpful and efficient. For a 3 nights stay in June we paid £111 bed & breakfast. Overall this whole was clean, fresh and a great place to stay. We will definitely return.

The property is for people on budget, wanna be by the sea and close to some night-life. My wife and me were at the hotel for 4 night with breakfast and dinner included. The room was very basic with clean linen and fresh towels provided everyday after room service. The hotel is located just a few hundred meters from the center of the city and about 2 km from Calella train station. One can always get a train from Barcelona or else one take the bus from Gerona airport to the stop 200 meter away from to hotel. Because we were there mainly to relax at the beach, we enjoyed the location very much. Getting to some of the bars, pubs and clubs was also easy. The food at the hotel was average, same breakfast was served everyday, but my wife me loved the amount of fruits we could eat. Dinner was also average with better options. My wife loved it as there was almost everyday a new variety of fish being served. For Totally two fifty bucks 4 nights, breakfast and dinner included was an awesome deal.. thus a nice late summer vacation bang for the buck By-Da-Cs.. Oh yes they did had pool too..
