My boyfriend and I visited this hotel for a short break as a surprise for my birthday! And wow what a treat it was. Rooms was quite basic but had everything we needed for our stay, clean and comfy! That's all we needed. As a last minute booking we didn't get a sea view but if you're looking at staying here I'd definitely recommend booking a sea view as the views would be amazing. The pool was always clean and tidy. Very quiet which was very relaxing! What an extra treat the roof top hot tub was! So relaxing and the views was just amazing, so relaxing sat in the hot tub looking out over the sea. The spa was also an extra bonus, so when we had a cloudy day we spent a day relaxing in the spa, it was brilliant. Breakfast was always tasty and had everything you could imagine, great way to start the day.Everything you could need was right on your door step, short walk to the beach which was one of the best beaches I'd ever seen, definitely worth a day to relax on there! The best food I've ever had is definitely in callela, we was bed and breakfast so we ate out in the afternoons and evenings and never had one bad meal, the food was just to die for at any resturant we ate at! It was amazing. The area it's self was not very tourist like but we enjoyed that as it was nice to see how the locals lived and relaxed on there weekends. Plus everything was soo cheap! Lovely little getaway. If you wanted to visit other places to very handy train right on the front of the beach was was very nice! We was worried that it would be loud but it really wasn't so don't be put off by that. Couldn't recommend this hotel and calella enough! In fact my parents are even coming to visit the same hotel this may! Thank you ght hotel for our lovely stay would definitely come back again

Like other reviewers we stayed here for Ironman in October, for which it was perfect. It was clean, Good breakfasts and convenient - given the very reasonable pricing, yep I think it's s pretty good option. We did have a standard room which had twin beds rather than a double, and no coffee facilities in the room, but I think you get what you pay for and I'd use it again

We stayed here for 5 nights for me to race Ironman Barcelona - it was the perfect base. Rooms were fine just what you'd expect from a Spanish Costa tourist hotel. Reasonable size, clean and tidy, the staff were excellent never batted an eye at triathletes with bikes in lifts or rooms out on an early breakfast on race day. Food was plentiful simple stuff but nothing wrong with it and excellent value for money at the price we paid. Nice resort too but we moved onto Barcelona after the race for a few days holiday.

The service at reception was very poor. The rooms were small and disorganized. Was a bad smell in the room. Air conditioner did not work. Perhaps the Internet was free but do not worked most of the day There was no access from the room to the internet . Everything costs money there: drinking water, safe, refrigerator. And higher prices. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

The hotel was lovely and overlooked the beach. We loved the rooftop terrace with sun loungers and 2 hot tubs! The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and plentiful. But very poor wifi. We will return.

Having read previous reviews we had great expectations. Sadly we were very disappointed. Our room was dirty. The "free" toiletries in the bathroom were pathetic. We had to ask for more soap. The shower soap dispenser didn't work. Having reported this nothing changed. The hotel boasts safe deposit boxes. This will cost you 28 euros a week receiving 10 euro back on return of lock. In our bathroom were two glasses. We deliberately left fingerprints on these and can confirm these were not changed once during our stay

Stayed here in Oct 2016 for a week. We had paid extra in advance to ensure a sea view, which I would definitely advise, especially since some rooms (at the back) don't have balconies for sitting out on (juliet type I think they are called). We were in Room 518, at the corner of Floor 5. Great room and excellent sea views. You could hear the sea at night which was very relaxing. The hotel also has a lift which goes up and down the outside of the building which is nice. Wi-fi is only available in the reception area, and you might have to keep asking the receptionist to make sure it's connected! It would have been nice to have it in our room. We needed the Air Con whilst there, which is a bit tricky. Takes at least a full 10 mins of having the patio door shut before it starts working! TV only shows news in English - not that we were on holiday to watch TV, but we had some rain on one day, and it would have been nice to even sit and watch a movie or something. The location was pretty good. Plenty shops, restaurants, supermarkets around about. The Istanbul Kebab Diner was quite good, and SPAR & MacDonalds all nearby too. There wasn't any entertainment in our hotel, but literally behind it is an H-TOP hotel which had plenty entertainment every day/night! That was our second choice (one star more!), but we opted for the Maritim Hotel, due to the beautiful sea views, and food reviews. The food was of a decent standard. In fact my husband is a Chef and extremely fussy, but there was only one night we felt we had to eat out (we were HB). It wasn't due to the quality of food, but really just personal choice for us. There were 3 fish dishes on (which we're not keen on!) and the meat was either meatballs or skewers with turkey on them, so it felt more like a 'buffet' rather than an actual meal. Other nights there were plenty of choices for us. Lovely veg, potatoes, chips, meats (roasted joints) etc and always something you could choose. They did do a lovely cold ham at breakfast time which I would have happily have taken at night too, but it was never out then! They are quite strict in the restaurant, in that you are not allowed ANY bags in! You can easily visit Barcelona and other resorts (Lloret & Santa Susanna, Pineda) by train. If going to Barca you can get your train ticket for free if you also pay for the open top bus tour at the train station, which is a great deal. If visiting Lloret, you get the train to Blanes, then the bus. Ask for the bus ticket to be included with your train ticket to save cash too. The hotel is quite a walk from the train station, but there is a wee tourist train which takes you there, and stops literally right outside the Maritim Hotel. (1.50 Eu one way/2.50 Eu return) As I have some mobility problems, I felt that the transfer from Barcelona T2 Airport was a bit much. Lots of walking at the actual airport itself! In fact we had to go to another terminal building to get our transfer info desk, then walk a long way to the transfer coach. We then waited a while on other flights coming in before moving away, then it took about 1hr 15min for the actual transfer itself! Coming home, the Easyjet flights leave from Terminal 2C, Ryanair from Terminal 2B. We were Ryanair which was check in desks 66-71 (T2B) then departed from Y55. A LOT of walking within the airport, and a long queue at security too. I would recommend the Hotel Maritim in Calella. We had a lovely stay here, and LOVED having the sea views. The roof top terrace is nice too.

When choosing this hotel I noticed some negative comments regarding poor food and rude staff .... All I can say is that they must have stayed in a different hotel to me. The staff were always helpful and friendly especially the restaurant staff. The food is Buffet so I was managing my expectations. Tosh .... Needn't have been concerned, food was plentiful and the variation for dinner was, for a budget hotel, frankly staggering. Also of a very good standard ..... The position overlooking the beach is great, the only downsides so, if you are by the pool, it can get a little noisy with the trains and coaches BUT at night no problem, no disturbed sleep. You can however use the roof solarium complete with two jacuzzi .... There is a small indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi downstairs. The beach is great, with bars/restaurants actually on the beach, fairly coarse gritty sand, however east to clean off .... Lol Plenty to do on an evening with more shops, bars etc than one person could need ... Also with the train running along the coast, it is easy to go from Barcelona all the way to Loret de Mar ..... Barcelona incidentally is a must do ..... As a City it's right up there as a place to visit. Would I go back, as a very well travelled person .... Absolutely ....

This is a small but ideally placed hotel. The room was small but clean and the food was delicious. We couldn't wait to try the roof terrace as it was adult only however there were 3 children up there so it spoilt it for us and we left. The beach and shopping are fabulous with plenty of bars to call in for a refreshing Gin.

Having taken budget holidays for the past 3 years along the Spanish coast, we rated this Hotel and resort 9/10. Hotel is situated right opposite the beach, local buses and trains run very frequently if you which to travel outside the resort. Hotel has very well decorated rooms which are spotlessly clean. Restaurant had plenty to choose from for breakfast and evening meal, staff throughout he hotel were lovely and very customer orientated. We asked to keep our room on the day of our departure, but due to the hotel being busy were unable to. Reception staff were very helpful though as the hotel has a safe storage area for luggage and towels were given to us with the use of an area to shower and re fresh- most helpful. Roof garden made a refreshing change along with Jacuzzi as well. There are 2 swimming pools to choose from and on 2 occasions I had the use of the indoor one all to myself, as well as the indoor Jacuzzi . Only fault we found was that the internet was very hit and miss. The only place we could pick up a signal was whilst we sat in reception. Sauna room and massages were also available here with bookable times. Bar was not open until the last evening before we left, and some entertainment would have been nice as an incentive to keep guests in during the evenings.
