As close to the beach as you can get. Pretty central as well. The rooms were ok, but lacked a refridgerator. Also it is very easy to hear your neighbors. Felt like the walls were made of paper. The bathroom was good and they changed towels and cleaned the room daily. Reception staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was ok. The hotel only have one elevator, which makes it annoying when you're going up to your room sometimes. All in all an ok hotel.
My first time in Calella, and booked this based on previous reviews, and so glad I did. Excellent value for money, we were All Inclusive as this was great value when we booked, but turned out to be even better value once we were here. Drink is served in proper glasses, and to our surprise the food was astonishingly good. Lots of variety, and very well presented. The food was constantly replenished so if you're late for breakfast or dinner there is still a full selection. Staff are helpful and efficient. Yes, the room was fairly small but immaculately clean, with new towels every day and linen changed regularly. There is some noise from other rooms due to the design of the hotel but after the first day you don't really notice, and this isn't a noisy hotel at night. Not a hotel for children I would suggest, as no real entertainment and the pool on the roof is more of an adult chill out zone. However, it's directly opposite the beach, and plenty to do in the town. Enjoyed the town itself, and caught the train into both Barcelona and Girona (well worth a visit, and often overlooked for Barcelona, but Girona is stunning). Absolutely cracking week, this is a gem of a hotel if you're after friendly staff and value for money! Would definitely come again.
Stayed at this hotel for my 25th anniversary celebration. Staff were very freindly and helpful.Hotel is clean, room was quite small ,could not really move around without bumping into each other.Requested double bed,but was offered 2 twin beds placed together,a little uncomfortable . Breakfast buffet was reasonable ,there was something for every tastebud.Supper buffet a little more limited and lack of spices or salt but over all good. Drinks not included at supper buffet unless you have the all inclusive plan at an extra cost. Location of hotel is across train tracks to beach , need to walk a little to a path to cross annoying when you need to wait for train to pass. There is a general sewer smell in the area as well ,it cud get uncomfortable at times. Hotel has a small rooftop pool which is quite enjoyable most of he time too bad it closes at 8.00pm due to safety restrictions. Overall would recommend hotel , good quality for the price we paid. Hammocks are offered to hotel guests at an extra cost .Hotel is close to transportation .Train is 5 mins away ,bus is at tourism office about 10 mins away both by car .
We booked this hotel because of the good reviews especially about the food. Whilst the location is spot on, the staff are lovely, very hard working (especially Anna Maria) and the room was clean unfortunately the food did not live up to the reviews. In general the food was unappetising, limited in choice and of poor quality. Our outward journey was excellent until we landed in Gerona. Apart from the fact that the drivers do not assist in loading the cases we were left waiting on the coach for over an hour without any explanation. When the Jet2 representative did finally show up she totally ignored any questions about the delay. We later found out that the coach was waiting for a couple who were on a delayed flight from Manchester! The rep. then informed us that the coach didn't drop us outside our hotel but a ten minute walk away, however the driver would phone the hotel and they would send a minibus to pick our luggage and us up. Needless to say he had no intention in doing what he is presumably paid to do and we ended up walking to the hotel. On our return journey the hotel arranged a minibus to drop us at the pickup point as arranged with the coach company but the coach was waiting somewhere else for some reason. We had to phone them up eventually.
What a great little Spanish hotel Spanish in the way it looked. Central location to train ,bus and taxis. The rooms are a little bit dated but adds to the Spanish feel, they are very well kept with flat screen tv available and wifi through out. There is quiet a bit of noise at night and early on so would recommend top floor, there is a lift. There is a rooftop pool and a small bar was available which we think had only just opened also toilet facilities. There is also a small amount of sun beds and tables and chairs and you get a great view from the roof. The food was very good for the price continental breakfast and cooked breakfast available as well as cereals. The afternoon meals were also great different choices everyday with a plentiful salad bar. Evening meals were also very good I'm sure even the hard to please person would be able to find something. Drinks are available all inclusive in your all inclusive package you are given a ticket which is swapped for a glass and when you have finished you take your glass back and get your ticket back for the next day. The hotel is situated across the road from a fantastic beach, sun beds are €5 each and there is a cafe/bar which has a selection of drinks and food the sangria is very moorish. All in all would highly recommend
Stayed here for a week - all inclusive as it was the cheapest deal! Flew into Girona airport - access to Calella by taxi, bus transfer or train. All convenient. Basic room but who wants to spend the holiday in a bedroom? Good food varied from day to day. Helpful staff. Mixture of languages spoken. Train line runs in front of hotel but generally quiet at night. Excellent location for both town and beach. If wanting to eat out the Bodega Azore is around the corner and makes fabulous food at a reasonable price. Either book or get there at 7.30 when they open. If returning to Calella I'd not hesitate coming here again.
This hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the place was immaculately clean. Location amazing for train, bus and restaurants. Plenty to choose from. Quite built up for us compared to usual but not hugely British (ie Irish bars and 'John Smiths sold here!' places). Yes the hotel is a little dated n parts but so are many and for what is charged it's amazing! Food was great for size of hotel. Great choice at breakfast. Lunch and evening were different most days apart from the obvious salad bar which you get in most places. We had prawns, seafood, fish, pork, chicken, beef, even the usual pizza, pasta and chips were there if you wanted. Drinks were great as you didn't get the plastic cups and beer was san miguel. Rooms were very clean but quite small. Didn't bother us but could some. Bathrooms were good size. I would like to commend the maid service for room 210a for 15-22 June as I left a precious necklace on the bed which was really small. When I realised I went back to the room in a panic thinking it would've been lost in the bed making and she'd put it on the desk for me. VERY relieved let's just say!! Thank you sooo much. Only downside for us was in the evening it could get loud and because we're usually early to bed affected our sleep sometimes. We were in a room overlooking the back terrace which is lovely but loud if you get noisy folk as it echoes. Simple solution...ear plugs! I was very grateful. Finally the roof terrace was absolutely brilliant we loved it. No sunbed hoggers either. Looks like a bar might be up there soon not sure if this is good or bad as could spoil the serenity but great for a cheeky beer in the sun!
lovely little hotel not much for children all staff helpful and lovely bar one good food very clean helpful multi language near sea front nice town all inclusive the entertainment is very limited may go again next year Cakes for breakfast very good
Was dropped off in main street and told it was just around corner , had to ask helpful local where it was , cheery welcome and lovely hotel , helpful staff , well situated for all amenities but didnt know what next meal was going to be like ! one morning there was french fries for breakfast , worst food ive had for all inclusive , thank god for local eating places , Grouchos mexican restaurant is a must visit , all in all well worth it but would have paid extra for holiday if it was put to food.Rooms were nice , clean and fresh .
After having a horrendous stay at a hotel in Santa Susanna, I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was good and bar prices were reasonable. Rooms were very lovely and comfortable. Beach is across the road and shops are very nearby. Had a lovely stay here and would return
