Comfortably furnished and well-maintained, The Wheelhouse offers the space and amenities you've been looking for along with convenient access to the beach less than 500 feet away. This custom-built home features an open-concept layout on the main level, with a spacious great room ideal for family gatherings. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow an abundance of natural light and take advantage of both ocean and lighthouse views, which can also be enjoyed outside from the expansive sun deck. Two dining tables plus built-in banquette seating allow everyone in your group to enjoy meals together. A spacious and well-stocked kitchen is designed with large families in mind, providing plenty of work room and counterspace while still being part of the action.

Everyone can have the privacy they need since all seven bedrooms have access to a private bath, three of which include a garden tub perfect for soaking away the day. In addition to providing hours of indoor fun with both a pool table and foosball, the huge game room on the ground level serves as second living space, complete with sitting area, TV, kitchenette and dining table. Just outside is a large fenced-in patio where you can grill the catch of the day. The patio leads to your private pool and hot tub, which will be everyone's favorite hangout spot in the evenings.

Located on the north end of Corolla and a part of a natural reserve, Ocean Hill is the ideal community for guests looking for a more secluded and natural setting for their vacation, with less traffic and wide, uncrowded beaches. When you stay at The Wheelhouse, you'll be within a mile radius of famous Corolla attractions including Corolla Wild Horse Tours, the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Historic Corolla Park and the Whalehead Club. The Corolla Light town center is also just a mile south, where you'll find a variety of shopping, dining and takeout options.

House layout was great but needs paint and totally new carpet besides old shag. Also basement windows totally need Shad’s to keep heat out.

We had a fantastic stay and would absolutely book this house again. The location was excellent—beautiful views despite not being oceanfront, beach access just three houses away, and close to Corolla’s shops and attractions.The house was surprisingly quiet. Even with people in the rec room, very little noise traveled to the main living area. The open floor plan was perfect for our group, with plenty of seating, ample parking, two dishwashers, a dedicated ice maker, and everyone having their own bathroom (though some could use updating).Our only issues were minor maintenance items. The bunk room ceiling fan remote was missing batteries, so the fan and lights didn’t work. The top-floor master bath took a long time to get hot water, the exhaust fan didn’t work, and we couldn’t get hot water to the tub. One decorative bedroom window lacked a shade, so the morning sun came in early. During a rainstorm, we also noticed one of the large living room windows leaked some water.Overall, these were small issues that didn’t take away from a wonderful week. We’d gladly stay here again and highly recommend this house for large groups.
