I could look past the leaking in the bathroom ceiling when the AC is on. I can look past the missing remote for the bedroom tv. The property is nice and the room was large for a great price. However, that’s where it ends and I can’t look past the fact that the room smelled like cigarettes the entirety of the stay. We do not smoke and I had two children with me who don’t need to be around third hand smoke. We all smelled it when we walked in and my first thought was to call the front desk. I surely did not want to be unjustly hit with the cleaning fee for smoking because it said on the welcome paper that guests would be responsible if there were signs of indoor smoking. When I called, I didn’t want to sound like we were complainers, so I notified that the room smelled and I didn’t want to be charged for it. It seemed like the gentleman knew this was an issue and he told me not to worry about it. I did say we would tolerate it, but I truly expected him to offer us a new room. Instead, I felt brushed off. So we dealt with it and we went nose blind to the smell after a day or two. It wasn’t until we got home and opened our suitcases that the smell of cigarettes was back. The crazy part is that our clothes remained in our CLOSED suitcases during our stay and they still wreak! My daughter was getting ready for school this morning and wanted to wear a pair of clean jeans she hadn’t worn on the trip and told me it smelled. I need to wash everything now! Unacceptable.
