The Castle Hotel an Oasis of Charm in a frenzied World ! Family run with a quintsential emphasis on Customer Care. Nothing here is too much for the Staff. Definitely one for the Bucket List. The Buckley's take a Bow.
We visit this hotel yearly as a group. Kay and the staff go out their way to make sure that our trip is perfect and runs smoothly. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are a credit to the management. Don't bother eating out locally. The bar and restaurant have a fabulous range of food and it is delicious!
Nice lobby area, rooms clean & comfortable........we had a jaccuzi bath which was very nice ! breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful. there's a car park around the back for residents. we were attending a function and the buffet food served was fresh and tasty. there's a coffee shop off the lobby which serves nice cakes and good coffee. all in all a very enjoyable stay!
We got married in Gougane Barra in Cork in July. We stayed in the Castle Hotel in Marcoom. Had our wedding celebrations there aswell. Kay the wedding coordinator and the Staff in the Hotel were awesome. Kay was great from our 1st meeting September 2016 we had everything discussed for our day in July. Just a few follow up emails closer to the date. Stress Free.. From when we arrived on Tuesday til we left on Friday. We felt like royalty the way we were looked after and our families. We had no wedding stressed as everything was looked after. We we're very relaxed. Thanks to Kay and the staff everything we asked for we received. Best week of our life. We will be back again xxxx
This was our second visit this year to the Castle Hotel in Macroom. As before, there was plenty of free parking at the back of the premises, and the hotel was as fresh, clean and pristine as it was on our visit at the very beginning of the year. Check-in was as smooth as could be, and our room was large, very clean and cosy, with a double and single bed, and all the comforts we’d come to expect from our last visit. These included hospitality tray with tea, coffee and biscuits, along with some bottled water. In-room safe, free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, trouser press and extra blankets are standard in this very good hotel. It was All Ireland Senior Football Day so we had a snack in the bar (delicious toasted sandwiches) before returning to our room to watch the match and shout for the Dubs! Sleep quality was good, followed by a pleasant shower before breakfast. The quality of the breakfast here has been maintained to a very high standard, both the buffet and the cooked-to-order variety. Needless to say it was as delicious as the last time. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the Leisure Centre on this occasion, but there’s always another time. On checking out, we were even offered some bottled water for our journey home – how’s that for customer service?
Stayed here a long time ago and it was good - this time it was eats and drinks only. Lovely food, well presented, quality, and best of all friendly, chatty staff who went the extra yard to make it a pleasant evening out.
We had to visit Bandon and Mallow Libraries promoting my husbands upcoming performances of Strolling Through Ulysses. We wanted to stay somewhere nice overnight within easy reach of the two towns. I searched all the resort towns south of Bandon and was shocked by the cost of an overnight stay at most of them. Some did not even offer breakfast. When I came upon the Castle Hotel I decided to take a punt and we chose Macroom. Delighted with our choice, though I am not a huge fan of the typical hotel bedroom, it was decorated beautifully, large, clean and very comfortable. The shower had great pressure and very hot water which is always a bonus in the morning! We used the leisure facility. It was a little jaded and the steam room could do with some upgrading but it gave us what we wanted and we met some nice friendly local people in the steam room who gave us heads up on where to eat and have a night cap. Breakfast was fabulous. A full cold buffet and the option of hot breakfast too. We ate very well as we had a long journey and knew we would not eat again till late. We were very Irish and left it till the last minute to go for breakfast (not intentionally) but on arrival the ladies serving were delightful and took our orders graciously. They were very friendly and chatted with us, even recommending a lovely wine that we tried and enjoyed! (Not with breakfast!) Overall very happy. As we were checking out we noticed a great buzz in another room and when I investigated it was a very lively coffee shop with a lot of locals enjoying respite from the heavy rain. We will visit again.
Doyle Having stayed in this hotel previously with my wife I decided to bring the Salmon Leap golf society down for the weekend The hotel did not disappoint The welcoming and friendly staff ,the food, the bar all were excellent. This was our societies best weekend ever and it was strictly due to the Castle Hotel How I'm going to follow this for next year I do not know. If in Macroom never fail to visit the Castle hotel. Absolutely excellent.
A group of 14 cyclists stayed here during a recent trip. From the very first contact, which was months before staying, the excellent customer service was evident. The management and staff made us feel so welcome and the attention to detail was brilliant. Accommodation, food, location and especially service were top notch. Everything about our stay was enjoyable and the feedback from the group was very positive. I have no trouble in recommending this hotel and would go out of my way to stay there again.
