Just back form a 10 night holiday at Potamaki hotel .. on arrival the hotel & resort was better than our expectation & we were greeted by friendly staff .. My room was spotless a lovely double bed, on booking it stated mountain views but we had mountain & sea views which was a bonus .. the rooms are cleaned every day, fresh sheets, towels - air con spot on, mini fridge, flat screen tv .... Entertainment 5 nights a week, the circus & Greek nights were brilliant ! .. We booked a boat trip to Paxos & anti Paxos through Corfu Cruises just up the road 25 euros is a must ! .... The beautiful beach opposite the hotel, see Billy for a sunbed, umbrella & drink 3 euro for the day .. Thankyou Jerry & Billy for a memorable holiday we are coming back next year !
Dobar stariji hotel, odlicno odrzavan. Odlicna higijena. Peskire i posteljinu menjaju svaki dan. Ribaju kupatilo svaki dan, Ljubazni i uvek nasmejani. Imali smo dorucak i veceru. Odlicna hrana i raznovrsna. Uvek imaju veci izbor mesa, salate i prilozi. Good old hotel, greatly maintained. Excellent hygiene. The towels and linens change every day. They clean bathroom every day. Very kind people and always smiling. We had breakfast and dinner. Excellent food and diverse. They always have a greater choice of meat and salads.. The beach and the sea are clean and very close. Our room was looking at the side of the pool, so we had no noise problems - music. Every evening in front of the hotel, there was performances. So it did not bother us because we were at the side that was looking at the pool. The hotel is for every recommendation!
We had 4 beds AND a baby cot and the room was still large enough. Beds were extremely comfortable. Enormous balcony looking at the sea, from where we could enjoy the evening program on the ground open floor. The shower in the rooms and the lifts were very narrow. Staff was kind but vigilant not to take away any food from the restaurant (incl.picking out of one's purse, if they dared). An extremely busy road right in front of the hotel - impossible to leave kids cross it alone to get to the beach across the street. The beach itself is rocky and dusty. Thus we'd rather go to other beaches by car.
I booked my holiday through Solitair, a solo traveller specialist company. Solitair, on two occasions confirmed to me that seven people had booked this particular holiday. There were only three of us and I can not imagine that four people pulled out and lost their money. Solitair advertise that this hotel has a “pristine” swimming pool. I disagree, the swimming pool area needs a lot of attention to be pristine! They do also not explain that in front of the hotel is a busy main road with a blind bend. You need to cross this road to access the beach, so if you have any mobility issues, this could be a problem. They also advertise that the accommodation is “tastefully decorated with a relaxing sea themed decor”. My room was very basic, no “sea theme”, hard bed, rubbish shower and plug sockets in inconvenient locations in the room. The hotel is very clean and the cleaners did a good job every day. The hotel and resort of Benitses predominately caters for Russian and East European visitors. British visitors are few.... There is a bus stop opposite the hotel so it is easily to take buses to Corfu Town and other places. Reading the reviews, they say the staff at the hotel are friendly. The reception staff are unfriendly and unhelpful! The food in the hotel is disappointing. There is no Greek food as such. Obviously the hotel is catering for the Russian/Eastern European visitors who unfortunately have a tendency to pile their food high on their plates with no thought for others. Desserts were extremely disappointing. My main criticism is with Solitair and their lack of honesty. Thank god, we had a lovely rep, Karen!
My family and I spent ten days in Potamaki Beach Hotel in August, and we really liked it. The rooms aren't brand new, but they're perfectly clean and so is the rest of the hotel. The towels and sheets are changed daily. There's a bar in front of the hotel surrounded with palms and plants. Different shows take place at the bar in the evening: Greek night, magician's show, live music, etc. It's interesting, but sometimes it lasts a little bit long, and the music is quite loud. The pool is just fine. The beach in front of the hotel is nice, but there are much better beaches on Corfu island.
My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights. We had breakfast included in our deal. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would go here again for those of you who want my quick opinion. Our room was lovely good size, we had a wardrobe and drawers. There was a desk mirror and hair dryer in the room. The bathroom was nice basic as they usually are in Corfu. The room and bathroom was nice and clean and cleaned daily with new sheets and towels. We had a balcony with a view of the downstairs bar a d the beach. We arrived very late at night and the reception is manned 24 hours so this was no issue. The staff member who greeted us wasn't the most cheerful but not rude either. We got given our room key and directed where to go. There is a lift for those who would need it. We were on the third floor up. As mentioned above we liked our room a lot. Cleaning staff were most friendly they seemed to arrive on our floor shortly after midday, on one or two days we were in their changing or resisting and they were more than polite when we asked if they would mind coming back the next day. The cleaning was done to a good standard. The reception staff for the rest of the visit were very friendly and very very helpful. We asked advise on other areas that are nice to visit, about buses and travel. They speak amazing English which is fortunate as we speak no greek. The breakfast was more than adequate for myself and my partner. There is cereal, breads, jams, honey, greek yoghurt, melon or oranges, some hot food also that varied like ham, egg, tomatoes, some hot savoury pastries, rice pudding, sweet pastry on occasion. Of course there is tea cofee and some fruit flavoured drinks. It is help yourself and all you can eat. Made for a good start to the day. Overall very happy with the hotel. No swimming pool but the beach is literally just outside so no need for a pool. There is entertainment at the hotel bar. We enjoyed the magic show a lot. The entertainment is rather loud. So depending where your room is you can hear it. However with the air con on and the window closed I was able to sleep fine and it wasn't every night. Lovely cocktails at the bar. And actually seemed to be one of the main places for entertainment at night in benetsis. The beach is pebble as many are in Corfu reasonably nice beach water isn't the clearest not a huge amount of snorkling life to see. But good beach and the sun lounger and umbrellas outside the hotel were 2 loungers for 6 euro for a day and you get a drink each. Which I think is a good deal. We spent many a nice day on the beach. Benetsis itself was great for restaurants lovely food and so many places to choose from. All reasonably priced if not cheap in my opinion. Would strongly suggest trying a nice variety of the restraints as they were all great. We did have dinner at the hotel one night buffet style food all you can eat. Was lovely for a lazy evening good food. You can get buses from outside the hotel to some other beaches like Moratika just down the island a bit. Or there are fairly regular buses to Corfu town. They have a very helpful bus schedule on reception. There are also people selling boat trips we did go on two with Corfu cruises good fun and the coach stops outside the hotel to collect you. All in all we had a fab trip and were very happy with the service we received at this hotel. Would go again. And thank you to all the staff for helping our holiday be so good.
I spent a week at this family run hotel with my partner and we loved every minute of it. We paid extra for a sea view room which was definitely worth it, fantastic view to wake up to. The room was spacious enough and clean, bathroom was small and shower wasn't great but no different from other places I have stayed in Corfu. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the evening entertainment was entertaining! We had breakfast which was more than adequate but can't comment on the evening meal as we ate out instead. The hotel is well placed for everything - beach, restaurants and buses. I have stayed in Benitses several times but this was my first stay at Potamaki but definitely won't be the last!
Our holiday was nice in this hotel, the staff was kind and helpful, our room was clean and large enough, and the sea view is beautiful. In the bathroom the shower curtain does not really work so there was always water on the floor. A renovation would help.. The evening programs were just below us, and that was very loud!!! So if you would like to rest, than choose garden/pool view room on the back side. We had half-board, that was ok, but we missed the dessert at dinner, that was only one choice, fruite or cream/jelly... Where were the super-Greek desserts, like baklava, etc..? There is free wifi, but it is weak in the room, so you can use it in the garden or on the reception. The location is super, not far from the airport and capital Corfu town (about 25-30 minutes by bus), bus stop just in front of the hotel. Benitses old town is 5 minutes walk, and it is cute! There are plenty of shops and taverns in the area. The island is beautiful, greek people are kind, so all in all we enjoyed staying there.
Was a lovely family owned hotel only about 20 minutes from the Corfu airport. We loved the location which allowed us to explore other beaches on Corfu. The breakfast buffet was nice every morning and the beach across the street was very nice and relaxing. The area has great surrounding restaurants which we were able to walk to each night. The only downside was the entertainment provided by the hotel each night didn't start until 10:30pm and lasted until after midnight so if you were trying to get to bed earlier on some of these nights it was difficult at times.
