enjoyed the room and breakfast buffet, the beach was nice also we had a wedding here

The staff is very nice, the greenery around the grounds is pretty. The room is quaint. Nice vocals from the singer in the evening. The food was mediocre, there is no gym, really not much in the way of amenities. The pool is ok. This is definitely a low budget place, but it's not bad, just not wonderful. You won't waste your money here.

I had a wonderful experience at this resort...a little secluded place off of the beaten path and not far from the beaches on mactan island. An inexpensive taxi ride to the nearby Bluereef beach at maribago and small malls on the island, it was also not too far from the airport. But it was the staff that truly made this place magical for me...so attentive and friendly, they really felt more like family !!!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were here for almost a week and it was a big reason our trip was so enjoyable. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast and dinner food was great. The dinners are very reasonable. The rooms are very clean. The grounds are very clean. The pool is clean. In the midst of a lot of local poverty, the hotel was a good deal.

Alta resort is not far from the Mactan international airport. Approximately it takes about 20 mins by the shuttle bus which is arranged by the resort. The driver was waiting for me and my husband right outside of the airport and he took us to the resort even though it was fast midnight. The resort is in the middle of no where but it had everything that we wanted. There was not any hasseling by crowd so we could enjoy relaxing time. All staff members were generally nice and kind but at times they didn't have exact information. Even the owner of the resort was so kind and friendly. He was willing to listen to the guests. There was only one restaurant and a bar which was a bit disappointing but it can't be an object of complaints as it never got busy when we were staying there. Neighborhood was a bit of shocking scene because of poverty but people were nice once you try to know them. All the garden surrounding lodges were really good. The owner of the resort put lots of efforts in it we could see. Over all, it was a good choice to stay there and i am sure that the resort won't disappoint you either.

The hotel is VERY far from the city so taxi drivers ask for extra money on top of your existing fare. The kitchen staff was very lousy. For breakfast we ordered the same thing everyday. Eggs sunny side up, toast bread, jam, butter, fruit, and juice. The eggs were almost always runny. The toast was barely toasted or burnt. My fiance ordered plain scrambled eggs and got red onions, pepper and ham. Once I ordered scrambled eggs and got tomatoes, white onions, and pepper. Once she ordered and omelet and it was really runny. For lunch we ordered chicken sandwiches. We got soft toast bread, tons of mayo, hardly any chicken, and tomato and cucumber. The menu said nothing of tomatoe and cucumber so they don't know their own menu, plus we waited an hour for that mistake!! On top of this when I checked in I was hit with a$200 deposit I was never informed of when I booked. [...] Look elsewhere unless you don't mind the distance or leaving to get good food.

Hello Anonomous Thanks for the compliments about the room and the staff Most of our former guests don’t think of us as low budget- we have guest who have returned as many as 12 times. And we got the Trip Advisor badge of excellence for many years, including 2016. There are too many possible activities to name, and we also won an award for the best gardens in Cebu. The resort is constantly being renovated. A few of our countless amenities are: 2 large swimming pools, , 6 acres of gardens, a marina and dock for island hoping, wall climb, nightly live entertainment. We have a tour desk, a butler to answer any questions. I eat all my meals there, from the same chef’s that the guests uses. The specials are great. I am from Silicon valley and used to some pretty amazing food. I do admit when a chef has done the same meal 1,000 times, his heart may not be as motivated as if it is a new special he created himself. I advise you try out our specials rather than ordering from the menu. The specials are not expensive. Our 116 staff members are said to be some of the friendliest in the Philippines When I am not at out other resort, I make it a point to talk to all guests personally. Often they are unaware of just how many activities are available at Alta Thanks for taking the time to review us. Larry-owner
