Comfy and welcoming

A couple of nights to relax after long driving days. The room wasn't quite ready as they'd been so busy but reception staff were excellent in getting it sorted quickly and offered a complimentary drink in the bar while I waited. The room was spacious and well appointed (could do with a couple of comfy chairs - only one in there so someone would have to sit on the bed). Bed was firm and suited my taste. Bathroom a little worn but clean and had ample toiletries, towels, etc. - lovely hot shower! Parking was at a premium if you needed it to be near your room but there was plenty not too far away. The bistro gives a good discount to hotel guests and makes great food. The young French lady who served at the bar, took food orders and delivered them was brilliant and I'm sorry I didn't get her name but I did tell the manager.

We were upstairs when we shouldn't have been. Due to me having a disabled daughter she had trouble climbing stairs. No internet at all. No microwave & breakfast bowls at least. Very very noisy. So disappointing all round. Won't be back!

Highly recommend the Opal Inn to anyone looking for clean, comfortable budget accommodation in Coober Pedy. The onsite restaurant serves a good variety of options. The staff are all friendly and welcoming.
