Do not stay at this hotel. The room was extremely moldy and dusty. We arrived late and tired, so although we should have checked back out immediately, we stayed the night. I woke up with extreme congestion and a headache. There was definitely something wrong with the room, and when I checked out in the morning the staff person seemed very unconcerned when I told her. I suspect they already know the poor condition of their rooms.

I was hoping to be able to use the pool and the gym, both were closed. They also don't clean your room every day, only when you spend more than three nights in the hotel. The hand dryer didn't work, the TV only had about 10 channels, there is only one outlet near the bed, the ironing board and the iron are super old, the iron slain a shirt. Anyway, I just liked that there was breakfast and the staff with good service and very close to the base Fort Jackson.

The property was fine. It is in an area of development, there is construction work going on at this time in the area. The issue we have with this location is the problem we had with out room. Shortly after checking in my wife was standing on the right side of the bed and noticed her socks were getting wet and stained yellow. Suspicious of the colour sniffed the floor where she was standing. It was definitely the smell of urine! I called the desk and the night manager was there immediately. I had requested a change of rooms, we had not even turned down the bed having just checked in. My request of turned down, "housekeeping" as he called it consisted of a staff member and a couple of towels and some sort of spray. The floor was still wet and still smelled. We used our on Febreeze. The hotel was lightly booked that night and we could have easily been moved. That would have been the right thing to do but instead it was sloughed off as if it was nothing more than a wet spot! Sorry for the delay, in completing this review. I've been busy and just not in the mood to deal with this.

It was explained that the stay was for a retirement ceremony at FJ and asked if there could be a late check out in order to change into my dress uniform. The lady at the front desk stated I had to check out by 12 my second night or she’d charge me for another night. The following day a male in my party arrived and asked the same question if we could check out at 2 even for a fee and not another night and graciously she allowed for us to do so without a charge. The hotel offered plenty of parking and we were able to have 2 cars; However, contrary to what it said online the gym was still closed due to Covid mitigation (having a gym was a must in my checklist for this stay so I was greatly disappointed) and “breakfast to go” was hardly a breakfast. We were giving a checklist for each person and could only pic one and options were: cold bagel, cup of yogurt, granola bar or piece of fruit. That is hardly a meal and extremely frustrating when breakfast included in the stay was barely a snack for a grown adult. Furthermore, when booking with orbitz my room was to have a kitchen stove top and sink. My room had only a microwave with buttons in French so very difficult to use. I only recommend this hotel to those who have no need for amenities at all during their trip and plan to eat takeout every meal. It is a very quick trip to FJ and that was convenient with my schedule for the 2 days in town.

I liked the cleanliness and the friendly staff. The nearness to Ft Jackson was also a big help. Not much nearby for entertainment was a bit of an issue.

The staff was excellent the hotel was ok could have been in better shape

Rooms(2) were dirty. Mold on door frames, broken, chipped furniture, musty smell throughout, water leak stains on ceiling. Checked out a day earlier after seeing three inch roaches in room and stairwell. .

We dealt with 2 people. Both were rude and apathetic. The lady that checked us in did not remove her ear buds when talking to us. We asked for a non smoking room but the room smelled like smoke. We reported it but no action. The shower was stained. The ceiling and wall had water damage and carpet was wet in places. This place SUCKED. I will never stay in another Sleep Inn again!

I like the bathroom shower fluffy pillows ... friendly... pretty decent breakfast

There were a few nice women at the front desk to greet you. The breakfast was good. Only the juice tasted a little weird. Will stay here again.

He hotel smelt very stale and just old. However, the hotel staff was very nice and polite and willing to accommodate us with our room bc we had a problem with the bathroom looking very dirty. So the front rep moved us to another room in which it had a coffee stain on the wall by the sink area and the bathroom still didn’t look appealing. The breakfast was ok you got a choice of eggs, sausage, cereal, and etc. a typical breakfast. They did make the beds in our room when we left out but I usually put the do not disturb sign on the door because I don’t like when the staff enters the room going through our things. But overall the hotel needs a renovation quick!

I was in Columbia, SC on a Religious History tour. Hotel was convenient to First Presbyterian Church and the Mills House which formerly housed the old Columbia Theological Seminary. Also Elmwood Cemetery where some former professors of Columbia are buried and Columbia International University are not far away. The hotel is convenient to Walmart, Target, Ollies and other shopping and restaurants.
