I asked at the desk if I could get any discounts upon check in and was told because I used Expedia I could not. 3 hours after I checked in, I got a call and had to leave due to a family emergency. Again, I was told there was nothing they could do to offer any kind of refund because my reservation was made through Expedia. He said if I booked through the hotel he could help. Needless to say, I will never book through Expedia again! The hotel was ok. Not a 5-star place. Could definitely use some upgrades.

This is an older motet that offers an affordable, clean option right on the beach. Front desk staff was warm and welcoming, and the room was very clean. Check in was simple, and we loved being able to walk out our door and within steps, be on the beach. There's a park next door, which hosted a BBQ battle one day, and a croquette tournament the next, and we could play frisbee and throw a football there, as well. The boardwalk starts there, and there are convenient dining options close by.

I love Colonial Beach, and I always stay at Rivers Edge Inn. It was Days Inn when I first start visiting Colonial Beach. Staff is Awesome and the rooms are immaculate. It is my kind of vibe for comfort and tranquility.

Took 10 minutes for a staff to check me in after I arrived--they were nowhere to be found despite calling as instructed twice and knocking on employee only doors. Floor in the room was dirty, couldn't walk around barefoot. Shower was very weird where you could have a hot shower or a cold shower but in the middle it just turned off. Gave some real thought to staying somewhere else even though the money for this reservation was already gone. Do not recommend.

We stayed here two times before which seemed better. For this visit, we had a dirty mattress cover, the breakfast was very basic. Cereal seemed stale. In the past there were more food options. Also, the last night was noisy as our neighbors hung outside on picnic tables which are very close to hotel room doors. They were noisy until after midnight. Positive-fresh towels each morning.

This was our first time visiting Colonia Beach and staying at the River Edge Inn. The staff were friendly, professional and provided great ideas of things to do and see while in town. Shawna was amazing we really appreciated her and the rest of the staff who made us feel welcomed and comfortable.
