It was very nice stay. Breakfast was excellent. Staff from top to bottom was friendly.

One of the most important components for me when visiting a hotel is usually check-in. It is your first encounter with the hotel and you often want to be treated as a valued customer who was happy to spend their money with the establishment. My major concern here is that this hotel is classed by Orbitz as a VIP hotel. This means that the hotel should be aware of the status awarded to frequent and valued orbitz members. My experience with other VIP hotels has been positive. E.g. The Vibe Hotel (Melbourne) who take being a VIP hotel seriously and offered us a bottle of wine and a token room service credit. It was my hope and expectation that I would be offered an upgrade to the next room class upon check-in (executive room). Let me start by saying.. the hotel clearly had availability... so why not just upgrade me? How expectations stack up? Reception had no idea what Orbitz/Expedia was, they did not know what a VIP hotel was. I was offered a HUGE VIP hotel gift - 10% off spa bookings. After clarifying that I wanted to be upgraded to an executive room, I was told this was not the hotel policy and I must provide proof or contact my travel agent. I then called orbitz - 50 minutes to find out what was going on. Eventually we were offered an "UPGRADE" to a deluxe room over the phone (website suggests this isn't an upgrade). When I returned to reception - still got a no. I escalated it to the manager who authorised lounge access w/out room upgrade - 2 hours total time. not again.

Hotel is excellent, with great amenities and views. Service standards need attention. Details of our stay were not correct at check-in however to their credit this was corrected as best as possible. Dinner was marred by poor service. Drink order was incorrect and missing drinks. This took quite some time to rectify. 2 people ordered the same meal and the order was wrong. Upon advice to the waiter only one meal was corrected and I was left to eat and pay for a meal I didnt order. Supporting sides for only one meal were given and was expected to be shared although the menu advised the sides were for each meal. We loved the hotel and would like to stay here again, however hope the service standards will improve.

1. My request is 2 single beds, but the hotel gave us one king size bed; 2. When I go to take shower on the 2nd day, I requested hotel to provide more shampoo & bath gel, then I waited for 30 minutes, nobody send to me. I only complaint to Lobby Manager, this manager just let me hold on my phone and chat with anybody with her beside. Finally, I only could wait, wait, wait. 3. When we go to have breakfast next morning, there is no full tableware on table, only two knives. So I told waiter, 'If we use these tableware to eat?'. I requested coffee refill, just wait for 15 minutes, nobody provided service. This is only 1 star hotel, not 5 stars.

As a westerner, we didn't appreciate being assigned to a room on the same floor that has been designated as prayer rooms. Also, our room had a TV that required 3 members of the hotel staff to properly program and get it operational.

Great view of the city. Staff were polite and very helpful. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Clean and comfortable room. Definitely stay there again

I have stayed here several times and compared to other hotels of similar category find the hotel staff's service to be great!

Stayed there one night arriving in Sri Lanka, one before leaving. Both times it was a great place to stay: great staff, great rooms, and great buffet!

few nights in city great location, good food, great staff have stayed here a few times and consistently good

perfect for quick overnight in Colombo, good breakfast, comfortable room, walking distance to Dutch Hospital for easy shopping

If you only have time like I do for a weekend getaway then the Kingsberry is the place.

Great location, spacious well appointed rooms, staff friendly, but avoid the food.

Very nice but the Taj is better. Watch out there is no airport shuttle and hotel charges over 5000 rp, it should be 3200 rp.

I stayed 3 nights, and I hope to get back again. The location was great, and the experience there was amazing. I loved it. One of the best hotel stays I have ever had.

Fantastic stay and enjoyed their restaurants and the gym

A luxury hotel and enjoyed their food at the Harbour court.

The location of the hotel was great however the customer service was a disappointment. I had called the front desk to complain about the extremely loud music that was filling my room at well past 2 o'clock in the morning. The manager on duty came up to the room right away, listened to the awfully loud music and simply said "sorry for the inconvenience" and left the room. That is just extremely poor customer service. Listed as a 5* hotel I expect much much more. I was extremely disappointed. One of the main purposes of a hotel room is to sleep in and I was unable to comfortably do so.

Staff was great. helped me with everything i need, and good location..
