Family Wedding at Local Venue

We enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse, we were staying for our nephew's wedding at a nearby venue and had my mother, and my adult children with us 8 total...we had plenty of room and all was as listed on the VRBO listing...very convenient to all the things in College Station (University, Groceries. and Restaurants)...We will be back on our next trip to College Station...

What the Family thought about the stay

The little ones loved gathering eggs. The family was satisfied with everything. I am sure this is the going rate for this Vrbo, but just wish it wasn’t so expensive. I think the cost per night should include everything, including taxes and hostess and cleaning fees. There is such a difference in the base cost per night and the final cost.

Ring Day Party

Family girls trip

The farmhouse was perfect inside and out. The roses were blooming when we arrived. The front porch is welcoming, every room is clean, comfortable and sweetly decorated. The chickens are friendly and the fresh eggs were a real treat. We loved this little retreat and have already recommended it to friends and family. We will definitely choose it again when we visit College Station.

A taste of home away from home!

Our family made countless memories in College Station when my wife and I were in school at A&M. When we became parents, we always talked about taking our girls to the special place that impacted our lives and our relationship so much! Mr. and Mrs. Scott were fantastic hosts and the house was exactly what we were looking for. Growing up and living in a small town, the peace of the country was something that drew us to the property immediately. After watching the Aggies win at Olson Field, it was so nice “escaping” the hustle and bustle of the town and enjoying some peace and quiet, along with our privacy. Will definitely be staying at the Farmhouse again and a big thank you to our hosts for the accommodations that made a special trip for our family just that much better!

We enjoyed this home so very much. Very clean. Beds so comfortable. Farmhouse with all the updates. Everything you could ever need. More than enough linens and towels, etc. Basic spices, condiments, coffee, tea, creamer all for our use. Loved the chickens and fresh eggs just steps behind the home. The fire pit was a delight. They’ve thought of every detail. Not one single complaint. Loved every minute and truly didn’t want to leave.

Great property

This property was great and the hosts were wonderful. Very easy to communicate with and very hospitable. We really appreciate them allowing us to bring our 2 dogs. We have often encountered difficulties finding a place that permits pets. The house was very clean and comfortable. Its an older home but has been renovated with all modern conveniences. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a great place that is quiet and peaceful. Wonderful place to relax. This was our 2nd visit and we plan to rent it again in the future.

Perfect Stay!

This property was precious. It was secluded and spacious. Everything was modern but old school charm everywhere. The home had EVERYTHING you could think of including a personal fan, dog bowls and bug spray. We loved watching the chickens. It was exactly what we wanted!! Perfect farm house stay!

The farm house exceeded expectations. We were in town for a family wedding at a nearby venue, and the property provided the perfect, quiet respite from the hustle-bustle of large gatherings. Kitchen and bedrooms were well appointed, backyard fire pit was a sweet bonus!

Cute farmhouse!

This place was perfect for us! It was our first time visiting Texas during Roundtop and it felt like home away from home. Not too far from town but just enough where it isn’t crowded by neighbors. Also we were blessed with an egg by one of the hens during our stay! We will definitely be back and we will choose to stay here again

Wonderful house and owners

This property was great. Small, restored houses with all of the modern appliances and convivences, and a 10-15 minute drive to campus depending on traffic. Quiet and relaxing. It is often hard to find properties that allow pets but this one did and it was a great place for our 3 dogs. Very roomy yard with plenty of room for them to enjoy themselves. Guests need to appreciate this privilege by cleaning up the poop piles in the yard before you leave as we did. Owners provide the necessary equipment. We loved our two nights at the property and will definitely use it again.

Great Experience!

Wow! Staying at Kathy’s place was a great experience. The farmhouse was very clean and we had everything we needed! We enjoyed the fresh eggs and the open yard! We were able to catch up with family around a warm fire at the fire pit! We felt like we were way out in the country but only a few miles from campus and right around the corner from the venue for the wedding we attended. It was an ideal location. We will definitely stay again when we are in town! Thanks Kathy for graciously sharing Big Oak Farmhouse with us!

On a bird hunting trip to Walton Ranch which is nearby. Stayed at the farm house and had fresh eggs from the coop each morning. The place was clean, well stocked, peaceful and perfect for our trip.

Very cute little farmhouse, as advertised. The house was clean and very comfortable. We spent each morning and evening sitting outside listening to the chickens. We did eat fresh eggs which were a hoot to collect. Very impressed with this property. Would definitely stay again!
