I felt like I lucked out with competitive pricing with this hotel. It only cost $1 extra each day to add a buffet breakfast, which was generous, too. It's a new building, so it has solid sound insulation. Rooms are also equipped with USB-A wall outlets, which helps. It's very close to most popular tourist destinations. The rooftop view is stunning. Front desk provides a helpful tourist map and helps to call the taxi for you, and they are fluent in several languages. They informed me that Coimbra has the cleanest water in all of Portugal so it's safe to drink from the tap. They also secure luggage after check-out if you have time to look around the city some more before you need to leave. Downsides: The A/C doesn't do anything when you try to make it cooler... I tried to decrease the temp to 17*C but the room didn't feel any cooler. Room doesn't come with conditioner, tissues (only TP), or a safe. No laundry service.
We only stayed one night, but the staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable. Good breakfast buffet too.
