Whilst staying in Coimbra we needed somewhere to stay for 2 nights. We came across this Hotel whilst doing a google search and when we arrived at the Hotel we knew, from the state of the well kept gardens, that this Hotel would be perfect. We had a room on the second floor with Terrace and the view was amazing. Room was very clean and bed was so comfy. The breakfast was great and a variety of items that you could chose from. We didn't eat in the restaurant but had food in the bar which was fab. We can not fault this hotel and would definitely return when staying in Coimbra again.

This is maybe a 4 star hotel (well 4 star for Europe - maybe 3 star for North America). It's at the top of a very high hill - I don't think it was a great location for walking from the city centre. But it's a very nice hotel - I think it even had a library in the lobby! Beautiful views of the city at night.

Wow, what a view you get from this hotel. Situated high up so yo can see the beautiful city. Sorry can ride to the city centre where you can sit on a terrace & drink coffee or enjoy a meal. Some really lovely boutique shops. My favorite was a little bag & accessories shop. Cute bags. Ok for the hotel itself, magnificent views by day& night. Lovely gardens to sit & watch those views. Food was good & staff were very friendly, always had a smile on their faces. Rooms were a little outdated but hey if you are going to stay in your room whilst on vacation then it isn't really a vacation. Hope you enjoy as much as I did. Will definitely go back.

Booked this late via, but at £50 this was good value. The room was clean, with a good bathroom and good aircon. Bonus was a city facing balcony. The breakfast was adequate, and the staff were informative and helpful throughout. Free parking too. Only downside was the distance from the city. But they run a shuttle bus, and a taxi is only about 4Euros

Went with family ( kids 9 & 4). Smooth check in, rooms need to be refurbished despite very nice mattress. Lack of a swimming pool to use the amazing city view. Nice bar, easy access. No luxury at all but fit for the purpose for a short break in the city (5 minutes to the city center). Nice customer service

We travelled here on a Cosmos tour. This hotel is a little out of the city but easy to take taxi or drive your own car as it has parking. The hotel is well maintained and looked after with a beautiful garden. The inside is welcoming with plenty of seating areas - in the Bar which has great views of the garden and the city. The staff at the front desk was very helpful with my husband who required emailing copied and forwarding to Australia - there was no complaint from the young lady when he kept coming down to the desk...matter of fact the young lady said "We are here to make your stay as comfortable as possible and no matter what time it is I am here" (we still work while on holidays) The staff in the bar were very friendly and polite and enjoyed our Australian humour. There is also a lounge that one can relax in. A large Restaurant for breakfast which was enjoyable and our dinner was a buffet with plenty of good selections. Our bed and room was comfortable and had a view of the city at night which I enjoyed every time I looked out the window. It is a hotel I would go back to.

I have reviewed this hotel before, since I have stayed here quite a few times, so please look at my other reviews if you want more information. On this occasion, I have to say I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed by a reception staff member (maybe even it was the Manager). I arrived and parked my car next to another in what was evidently the wrong spot. As I was walking to the steps to get to the reception, this guy started yelling at me out out the window above me. He was apparently too impatient to wait for me to arrive at reception and tell me discretely that I had to move my car. Instead, he yelled out the window and embarrassed me in front of the three ladies standing also in front of the hotel. This guy needs to be told that this is not the way to treat a customer and I will now be looking around for another hotel in this area. If it wasnt that I promised my partner a birthday dinner in the superb restaurant, then I would have been too angry to stay here this time.

Good hotel with good choice of buffet dinner and breakfast. Although location was a bit away from town centre you can go downtown with a short drive by taxi. Fantastic view from hotel to downtown Coimbra. Good location for driving holiday in Portugal. Coimbra is a Unesco university town . So much history and so much to explore and lovely cafes to enjoy.and relax.

I stayed in room 115 as part of the Cosmos tour and found this hotel absolutely amazing. Sure it could be updated a bit as the carpets have seen better days but the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffet was brilliant. I am a vegan but could find adequate vegan options. The view from my hotel balcony was something else. I don't think I slept much coz I wanted to look out all night at the lights of Coimbra in front of me. It was so soothing. And since where I come from it was minus temperatures as Coimbra had such lovely weather of plus 20 something I was out on their lovely balcony the whole time. The buffet dining room had such views too. Wish I could come back to this hotel.

The hotel starting to show its age with withwhite light in room and in the hotel. Decorations in the room are outdated but room was spacious. Cleanliness was average but the staff works hard to make your stay enjoyable.
