The beds are terrible hard to sleep on, the towels are nasty with holes on it, is not the first time that this issues had happened to us. This time we ask to change rooms because the air was not working, but the shower on the other room was not working properly, Very disappointed!!!
This is probably one of the most overrated hotels in the area. A pseudo premium hotel that has no hot water , neither water pressure, no soap and no towels. Bad experience from the start. A/C cools effectively but way too loud... for a 80 usd/night , definitely not worth it. Btw , swimming pool water is not clear...
I stayed 3 Nights on the Mision Hotel at Ciudad Valles SLP My reservation was ok , room's have lack of maintenance ,dirty Wall's , old bathroom furniture ,pillow no good at all ; daily clean of the room is not good too ,towel are rough ;Piscine area is ok and water temperature is nice ;restaurant is ok Something good to say about the hotel is the hospitality of the people who are friendly American Express Card does not work properly so you have to use another Credit Card ,unfortunately Cd Valles does not have enough Hotels to stay to look for better options
It is an old hotel and it shows in its rooms. Though the master suite was spacious with two bedrooms it did not take away that this hotel needs complete updating. Wifi was on one minute and off the next. We had 3 AC units but only 2 worked well. The entry door to the master suite was so flimsy that if you really wanted to get in all you had to do is give a got push to get the doors open. NOT VERY SAFE! We stayed 2 night and the third night at HOTEL PLAZA ELITE. Hotel Elite is less than a year old and in a plaza down the street but its so much nicer.Next time we will be staying at Hotel Elite.
Me and my husband stayed here March 25th-29th for 4 nights. We came here for the adventures that the area offers. (White water rafting, cenotes, waterfalls and Puente de Dios). We arrived during the day and the hotel staff was very helpful. We booked the room through TripAdvisor and I think payed about 50$ a night. My husband speaks Spanish but they did have someone that spoke English. We were given a kind size room. Honestly with the reviews and being in Mexico I didn't expect very much. The room was clean, cold with A/C, TV, coffee maker with bottled water and great size shower. Looked great! Also the property has an exclusive parking area that is connected to the street so only guest are allowed in. This made us feel very safe! We are Americans and felt perfectly safe the entire trip. We rented a car and drove from San Luis Potosí (3hr drive). PROS: Location! (central, directly across from the tour office "Huaxteca", multiple restaurant near by. Safe! Clean! Friendly staff! CONS: Hard bed, No hot water just warm. Overall we liked it and would come back. We took 2 day tours with Huaxteca across the street (rafting & waterfall). The other day we drove to Puente De Díos. It's a must see!
This is a no frills hotel but has all you need to be comfortable. Hot water, hair dryer, decent bathroom areas, good enough TV, Internet, good breakfast in restaurant not included with the room. It had all the things I needed to be comfortable. Not a fancy hotel but good enough. Has a pool in a garden- like area.
Stayed there for a night and the room has been probably the oldest and dirties I have ever slept in, rust and mold! AC poorly installed and positioned, walls cracked as well as celling, lack of maintenance. Very old furniture definately not worth it.
The hotel is old and rundown. The bathrooms haven't been updated since 1970. My room didn't have a working phone, the outlets were loose and didn't work. Furniture and fixtures old and dirty. Horrible. Los baños están espantosos, de dar asco. El teléfono de mi cuarto no servía, los enchufes flojos. Horrible. Este hotel no lo recomiendo para nada.
It was not too busy when my GF and I stayed there, but the room was very clean, the staff was amazing and the food at the restaurant was the best ( I am missing the food right about now). The waiters were on top of everything and did not skip a beat, we were there 4 days and the waiters remembered small details such as how we like our coffee, when we wanted our pancakes (at the end of our meal, fresh and hot), how we liked our omelettes and the kind of salsa we liked. The best waiter hands down is Bernardo. The hotel is very nice for what it is and we cant wait to be back. We will try to go back again during the slow season which is apparently from Mid-January-through early March. If traveling the huasteca potosina we highly recommend renting a car and seeing it all for yourself. However, if you are staying within the city of San Luis Potosi do not rent a car while you stay there. Rent it when you are ready to venture out sight seeing and will not be staying in the city of San Luis Potosi---driving within the city is outrageous and down right dangerous (I have driven all over the US and Mexico and SLP is by far the craziest place to drive, i wont do it again). Once you are out of the SLP city limits you will be fine, just make sure to map out your drives beforehand. We rented from National Car Rental just outside the center of San Luis Potosi and had a fine experience.
I stay in this hotel everytime we go to La Huasteca Potosina. It is a modest place with old facilities... but... it is the best hotel in downtown Ciudad Valles. It's clean, moderate and at a walking distance to a couple of restaurants and convenient stores. There are two affordable places very close to have breakfast or dinner: Bonanza and La Troje. There is a "super" market Aurrera at 3 blocks. Please keep in mind that in general La Huasteca has very little infrastructure, it means you should not expect any restaurants, bars or hotels like Cancun or Acapulco. But the places around Ciudad Valles have no comparison. This is paradise. Please visit the falls: Cascada de Tamul (1 hour drive), Minas Viejas (2 hours), Cascadas de Micos (45 mins). Don't miss Xilitla to visit Sir Edward James sculptures garden (2.5 hours). If you want even more fun, ask for the Rafting, it is very affordable compared to many other places and it's absolutely beautiful!
