"This was our final overnight stay on a spectacular eight-day late September / early October trip that my wife and I took in Colorado and northern New Mexico. Actually, most of the trip was pre-planned months in advance, but our side venture into New Mexico and a stay at the wonderful Casa del Gavilan was a bit of a last minute change in plans. We were extremely fortunate to be able to stay in the Phillips Guest Room, which was the favorite room of Jack Nairn, the founder and original proprietor of this historic inn. All the five star reviews of the Casa del Gavilan are well-deserved. This is a very special place with an incredibly beautiful natural setting, remarkable history, magnificent historical architecture, comfortable rooms, and gracious hospitality. A stay at the Casa del Gavilan is good for the soul! My wife and I are already thinking about a return trip, maybe in the spring?"
