Our unit was very dated but clean. The manager was extremely efficient and friendly and runs a tight ship, necessary as it appeared some of the guests were there awaiting rehousing by the government. Located on a busy road (boy racers Friday - Sundays) but if you need to be in that location access is easy. Speights Ale House along the road and handy for meals. Overall the place seemed musty, and targeted at the budget traveller. All this lead to an ok stay but I doubt we would return. Having said that the manager was very lovely and helpful.
we stayed here one night. met by lovely lady. This is very budget motel. Doesn't look anything like the photos on the net. Shabby exterior, very old decor inside ,dusty musty smell. Had stains on the carpet. When turned the heater on the dust blew in the room and gave off offensive burnt smell. Room was very damp. Entrance/hallway passed off as kitchen. Dishes were unclean and had oil streaks on it. triggered dust and Asthma allergies in the family.Very Damp bathroom.
Had to find some where at short notice to stay due to leaking roof. Owners so accommodating to me and my dog. Thank you so much. Great unit, excellent heater, and very comfy bed. Great kitchen with everything you could need. Everything you could ask for in a Budget Motel.
We stayed here one night. We were met by a lovely lady, which was about the best thing about this accommodation. We went into the room and straight away smelt musty. There were stains on the three chairs and the carpet. The room itself was so outdated and you could see where it was "tried" to be cleaned on the doors (obviously with a dirty cloth). We had Chinese takeaways and opened the cupboard and all the glasses and plates, cutlery etc were dirty. But then we saw the note saying we would be charged if we left dirty dishes in the sink....well its obvious they didn't clean the dishes or check after guests leave as they were chucked in the cupboard dirty. We couldn't even sleep in the bed, was so noisy, nevertheless, we ended up going home at 5 o'clock in the morning. We WON'T be staying here again!
We stayed here for just one night, and it was perfect for what we needed. Small 2 bed apartment but pretty well stocked and shower was good. It was clean, but a little stuffy but that was due to the heat. parking available and 20 minute walk to the CBD. The owner was so helpful and offered to hold on to our luggage for the day until we came back with car which really helped us out.
We arrived late into Christchurch and needed a place to lay our heads for the night. The space was ideal and clean. Three single beds and a double bed. All very comfortable. The only downside was it was noisy by the road and the streetlights pierced the curtains making it a little difficult to get to sleep. I do believe the quality and standard is a genuine 3 star motel.
Lyn the owner is just a fabulous hostess. Nothing bwas too much trouble. She welcomed my 2 fur babies. Safe easy access off street parking The room was spacious, clean, warm & well appointed. Exceptional value
Pleasant hospitable owners very willing to oblige. The unit was clean and tidy - all that we needed.Parking on site was free. Little noise from passing traffic.A no hassle stay. .Wi fi worked every time.
We stayed for three nights, and were comfortable, though the accommodation was fairly basic. The motel provided everything we needed, and the lady who owns the place was extremely friendly. The fact that it provided a pet friendly environment was a huge plus, and having no extra charges for this service was appreciated, as was the free wifi. The room was clean and warm with an efficient heater for our use. The kitchen was very basic, but it suited us as we mostly ate out anyway. It was good to have a parking space on site. The only negative was that the lights from the rear of the unit near the laundry were very bright all night. We were able to reduce the problem by closing the kitchen and bathroom doors, however. Great to have the Speights Ale House just a short walk up the road. It was a handy place to meet up with friends and family in a central location which suited everyone.
This is not at luxury hotel but it is in a very convenient location, the staff are very friendly and helpful and most of the rooms are very quiet despite it being on a main road. I moved there from another place which was very exposed to traffic and my room here was down the back and whisper quiet. The rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable and mine had a small kitchenette. The bathroom was dated but satisfactory for the price. I wasn't able to lift my bag and the staff were very good about sending someone to help, even though it was quite a walk from reception. All in all I was very pleased with this place.
