We arrived late but were unable to contact because we left our phone behind! After borrowing a phone and contacting Jackie she came back and quickly and efficiently sorted us out. Hadn't booked a breakfast but James went out of his way next morning to provide for us. Very clean and comfortable unit. On leaving, James ran down the road to catch us at a compulsory stop with a pair of sunglasses left behind! Fantastic service. Would certainly stay again.

We arrived early, just infront of the incoming Cyclone and in outing rain, and were immediately given access to our one bed apartment by the manager. Very clean facilities, TV in both the bedroom and lounge, fast free wife, full kitchenette. Very good. Would stay here again when next in Christchurch. Recommended.

We had a family room, where the kids had there own room with tv. Small kitchenette. This is in walking distance to the CBD about 20 minuets. Great Thai container place up the road for lunch or dinner. Staff very friendly and rooms comfy and clean. We stayed in January and got room for 140 per night which is great. Free Wifi.

We stayed at the Abbey Motor Lodge for one night and had a very comfortable stay. The rooms were in the process of being updgraded so we got a goood deal. The staff were very nice, the location was great and the rooms well appointed. I would stay here again.

Nice enough. A dish washer brush would not go a miss. Renovations at the moment will have it shaped up well in no time. Happy to see a tradesman dog there too - that was probably my highlight. Good location

I think the title says it all. This place was very friendly. Everything was clean. Showers hot and spacious, electric blankets and easy to find. 5 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Free wifi. A pleasure to stay at. We'll be back next time. Thanks for your hospitality.

We spent 2 nights at Abbey Motor Lodge. It was in a good location. The apartments were still undergoing some renovation outside however this did not detract from our stay. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spotless. Kitchen and bathroom could indeed do with a facelift which I feel they are in the process of doing. Our room was quiet and it was lovely that a light and heater was left on for us as we arrived later in the evening.

We were in for one night and our experience was fine. We were in recently renovated rooms which were well appointed with modern décor. Its a small motel on a busy road which was a bit noisy especially as we had the windows open due to the warm weather. I'm sure as the cooler months draw nearer the need to open the windows will not occur. The staff were very friendly and most helpful.

Arranged to stay well in advance. On check in day we were nearly in Christchurch after a 4 hour trip and received a phone call telling us that they were doing up the motel and we were rebooked in a hotel. Why we were NOT told in advance was just not acceptable. If we hadnt been almost in ChCh we would have cancelled to another weekend Further contact with the motel expressing our concerns were ignored apart from being told the hotel was more expensive which didnt help us at all. The hotel was poor for a variety of reasons & made worse by being woken at 7.0 am both mornings by tour groups outside our room for about an hour. Our weekend was spoiled and we returned home early

Me and my dad stayed for a few nights. We had a large room with 2 bedrooms. Rooms were modern and well fitted out with nice furniture with good beds and a nice sized Tv, not to far away from the city centre. Rooms were clean and staff were fantastic and friendly. The place was undergoing some maintenance while we stayed this wasn't a problem as it didn't disturb us. Only main issue was the busy road. The traffic didn't really stop most hours of the day. At night you could hear the traffic noise through the closed window which was abit of a shame but this can't really be helpt in a big city. Would stay here again when we are next in the area
