About this property
Entire place

Beautiful finished living quarters, Horses, nature and adventure awaits!
This gorgeous barn is a perfect place to get back to nature, and connect with local amenities with or without your own horses (additional fees apply). It’s nestled in southern Ohio on a private 150 acre property, Cairn Creek (check us out on YouTube). During your stay you will be exposed to my daily barn chores if you like, get to meet and greet some animals, take in downtown Chillicothe, and exploring the local trails (hiking, biking, bridle). Minutes from Great Seal State Park, others nearby.
This is a fully operational barn with animals onsite. The living quarters of the barn are secluded to your privacy during your stay, however the animals will still receive care. This is a super unique place to stay because we offer so much more than just a super comfy bed to sleep in. Our horses on the property are part of your experience if you like, we also have the capability to allow you to travel and stay with your horses (additional fees). I offer guide services in various parks nearby, for both horseback (horses are not provided, only guide services), and hiking adventures! We are right next to Great Seal State Park, Ross Lake Wildlife area, within 20 minutes of Scioto Trail, Tar hollow, and Buzzards Roost. We are also a scenic 40 minute drive to the famous Hocking Hills State park. I can offer any type of guide services on foot, or horseback in these areas.
The Barn is located on our 150 acre personal paradise, Cairn Creek - you tube, & home to the best backyard golf hole, Spud Run Golf- you tube! We absolutely love this property and it was only natural to want to share its beauty and location with you as well. You may encounter other guests, friends, family or neighbors if they stop over to say hello to us. However the barn is located at the bottom of the property and you certainly also have your privacy if you want it! You’d just have to experience it to believe it! We cannot wait to host you for your next experience!
Guest access You will have access to the secluded barn living quarters during your stay but the space is a working area for our animals. In the winter they spend more time in the stalls under the living quarters and they require care 2 X a day . Other things to note The stairs inside are a little steep so be very cautious during your stay. There is a secure handrail for safety purposes. This barn is a working space and you will be exposed to the farm animals. The horses stalls are located below the main living area and your kitchen door opens directly to the inside of the barn! I would consider this a “shared” space even though you do not share living quarters with anyone. This is a working farm that gets cared for and worked on a daily basis. The animals all get fed twice a day and you can have as much interaction as you like with myself and my husband. We will be on and off the property at various times. I can also arrange for special requests within my capability! Guided Trail rides when you are traveling with your horses! Guided hikes on the nearby state parks. Horse lessons, or well being living lessons with the assistance of the animals.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and space to spread out with a separate bedroom. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

Perfect weekend getaway!
Fantastic property and a cozy stay. If you enjoy animals and nature, this is a unique offering allowing freedom to directly engage the horses, goats and openly explore the property. The owners are an absolute pleasure to interact with and were more than accommodating with our experience. 10/10

Quaint Barn
Cozy areas with some creature comforts. Place is as shown in pictures and host description. Only complaint was prevalence of stink bugs. Most found were already dead so there was pest treatment.

Great getaway
Beautiful grounds. Loved the horses. Would definitely return.
The Cairn Creek Barn was so perfect for a family getaway, especially if you love horses. Everything about the place was so thought out. All possible amenities from refrigerator, coffee maker, coffee, pots & pans, toaster, pour over coffee, shower, luxurious towels, washer & dryer, high chair, pack & play, extra sheets & blankets, sofa bed, air conditioning, large TV with streaming, intimate & family sized balconies, sitting area downstairs, fire pit, porch swing, horses, ponies, cats and dogs. The property is so picturesque and perfect for hiking. Only 15 minutes from shopping and downtown Chillicothe. An hour from Columbus & Hocking Hills. Our host was so gracious & friendly. Also home to Spud Run Golf. Will certainly return again & again.

What a great place! If you like and/or grew up on expansive land this is a great place to visit. It is absolutely beautiful if you take the time to wander the property and see all of its glory. Ellie and Ruby are family at the point and they both had a blast with our dog.
Accommodations in the barn are super comfortable and cozy!
Highly recommend!
Thanks Kim!!

Too short of a stay!
We visited the property for an overnight while in the area for Tecumseh and a stroll through town. We underestimated just how much we would have preferred to simply relax at The Barn! The property was very comfortable and we could have benefitted from a few more days to unwind and enjoy all that the property has to offer. We are definitely hoping to book again for a long weekend…with no additional plans!

Wonderful
We needed a quick getaway, and this was perfect. It was cold outside, but perfectly cozy inside. The animals were friendly and playful. We didn’t get to explore the outdoors much because it was too cold, but we would definitely go back.
