We like this hotel. The rooms are clean and simple. The stay is very tropical, although there is a lot of construction going on right now. The breakfast is more than sufficient. I like it and have recommended it to other people.
I stayed in Bangkok, Hanoi and Pattaya before Chiang Rai and would have to say it is a highly underrated area. The whole stay here was a whole lot more comfortable, both environment and weather (cooler and less humid), and less hectic than the busier cities with fewer scammers and a more relaxed culture. People were nicer and a few Thai phrases and a smile went a long ways.
We had a lovely room near the beautiful pool. Nice, well kept gardens. Helpful staff. The food could have been better.

The tour desk in the lobby was convenient and priced appropriately with tour agencies in town. The hotel was beautiful ... our room was lovely and comfortable, situated by the pool. The grounds were gorgeous ... it was similar to staying in botanic gardens. Staff was friendly and breakfast buffet was excellent.
