The staff were superb! Friendly, helpful and always smiling. Every day I came back from training at the ITM school of massage. I was greeted with a lovely smile and my key to the room. It seems each staff member had memorised my room number!! So it was always wsiting for me! Rooms were spacious, very clean and free tea, coffee and water were renued every day. The room had s fridge which was handy for other items bought from the market! The location was perfect for me and I frequently walked into the old city from the hotel, although you can easily catch a red taxi from the road. Thanin market was very close along with the bank and supermarket!! Muay Thai stadium and ladyboy cabaret were 2 minutes walk. The location is perfect!! The staff are superb and I will book this same hotel next year for my continued study of Thsi massage! 😁😁
Really good value hotel which has good access to the walled city. The shuttle bus service is excellent. Biggest bed we have ever seen. The pool was lovely and clean though the outdoor pool furniture could be updated.
Old building. Rooms are being renovated but seems tight budget could not include noisy and old air con system. Bathroom basin still the same horrible black so called marble. The rest of bathroom nicely made. Amenities are almost non existent and no tooth brush. Good news slippers are nice. But who chose a hotel fir its slippers? Tried the so called restaurant that is more like an old coffee shop with furniture at least 24 years old. Staff charming but extremely discreet not to say too discreet. A piece of advice, if you want to have a try of one of the wurst good one can find in Thailand, eat there. Datât sauce us a disgrace green curry is served with outdated peanuts and smells dust. Fish cake with prune jam are expérience you want to avoid. Lady but. It least pictures published on website showing the exterior of the hotel got no clue where they were shot. But hard to believe they were shot here. Did I enjoy my stay here? No. Would I come back ? No. Mercury Chiang Mai has a lot to do to come back to a decent level.
This Accor property is not inside the town's old walls. It's just right outside, but definitely worth every baht spent. The floors are so clean and the hallways are quiet. It's as if I'm in a hospital patient ward where the maids are ultra attentive. Most rooms have a standing space for showers. Room 350 has a bath tub if you're inclined to soak. During early mornings, busloads of tourists will crowd the breakfast dining area. Best to go early or late to avoid crowds. Their offerings include western selections, eggs cooked to order station, an Thai breakfast table, salad and Chinese options. Pool is on the 3rd floor. It's nothing spectacular, but adequate for a relaxing afternoon. And... I forgot to mention, no durians allowed, but you can consume them outside in the food court by the TOPS supermarket 20m to the right of the hotel.
My partner and I stayed for 8 nights at the Mercure, unfortunately this was a mistake. Room service food was bad, there was meat found in a vegetarian dish. Entire building is dated with many switches in room not working. Stains on "clean sheets". We had a house maid going through our stuff daily, I checked and placed things around the room that there was no reason for them to touch and found everything moved and bags opened. On our last day there we had items stolen out of our room and reception accused us of lying, they showed no care for the problem. To make matters worse I checked other reviews on Trip Advisor and the manager seems to copy and paste the same "remorseful" reply. Never again will I stay here. I would pay not to stay here actually.
This is my first time staying at Mercure and I was surprisingly disappointed. May be Mercure Chiang Mai has been there for more than 20 years. I am used to iBis and other Hotel in Le Club and they are satisfied. I found Mercure is a bit old and eventhough i was upgraded to Superior , i was put on the same floor with Chinese tour group and you could imagine how noisy it was.
Stayed four nights as a Le Club platinum member, this was our second visit to this hotel. This is in many ways an ageing and outdated hotel, however, everything is still in working order and clean. Bed quality is excellent. Staff is always friendly. Location is not exactly in the centre of things being located outside the city wall, but the more touristic area is still walkable, around 12 minutes walk to the city wall. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Night Bazar every night. In spite of the hotel appears somehow old and basic, for the low price charged this hotel still offers decent value for money, and all in all our stay was comfortable.
This hotel is nice, clean and good breakfast option. I stayed for 4 nights and I also like that it is right next to ' Top supermarket' where you can stock up on food items and pick up coffee, toiletries and pharmaceutical goods. Only a short walk from the square where the hostels and other bustling activities are. Transport to and from the hotel is cheap too. Only thing is in my room i had a dodgy fridge which made an awful noise all night! Must have been the motor aside from that i had a great stay.
I made a short stay (2 nites) at Mercure and was delighted to find the services of the staffs commendable. Mercure do provide airport transfer at a very reasonable price and they also provide shuttle service to the night bazaar. Even though the hotel looks a bit of "old", but the cleanliness was good. Besides, for those who does enjoy venturing the local fresh market, there's one just 10-15 mins stroll down the corner of Mercure. I will surely stay at Mercure during my next visit.
We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and then attended a conference at the same hotel for another 4 days. We liked the location, minutes for the center of town and when not rush hour, just 10-15 from the main malls. The rooms were clean. All the staff speaks English. The food was better than expected. Wifi worked great throughout the hotel. We recommend it. When getting around town, we found Uber to be the best; quick, efficient, no hassles.
