Hotel located near to the city centre at a walking distance from the main temples. The rooms are quite large and a little bit old fashion. The beds are confortable. Air co is noisy. The gym is very small. Breakfast is average. Efficient service. Fair value for money.
Read other visitors comment and spare me one more minute with that ridiculous property managed by total idiots. It's waste of time to even bother describing how disappointing and upsetting to have book in that hotel was. Room are not attended properly and ours was smelling and filthy. The food at the breakfast buffet the next morning was pathetic and with all honesty, only the hordes of China tourists who were there when we visited, could possibly eat such horrible food. reception staff are cleanly either trainees of very unprofessional, they don'tr speak much English for an lousy hotel receiving 100% foreign visitors. The Mini bar inside our room had very small bottle of Evian water costing 100 bath (3 u.s. dollars) per bottle which we had to pay upon checking out. The staff is unfriendly, not greetings guests and you can't ask anything as no one speak proper English. Stock in the lobby by yourself, with no help at all. The Thai smile and hospitality is just a dream. It doesn't exist in that hotel. Big time that hotel spoiled out visit to Chiang Mai and. we had to pay for it. The three bell Boys at the lobby, look vulgar and poorly groomed. The Travel Agent next to the reception tried to rip-us off with exuberant price for taxi usage. A dishonest woman. Get a taxi on the road yourself, you will safe tones of cash. Even if you go to the airport cost 150 bath, she forcefully try by asking for 500 bath with all sort of nonsense story. The bell Boys are involved inb the racketeering as well..AVOID THAT HOTEL. It's not worth the price. There are many boutique hotel near by for the same room rates.
Trust me, i globe trotted the all world and though upon arriving in Chiang Mai, the Amora Hotel would be as good if not even better, as it is a chain of Hotel in New Zealand, a country I love and traveled frequently in the past. trust me, the Amora is actually tarnishing the Amora hotel and it's New Zealand equivalent is a dream comparing to that dreadful hotel in Chiang Mai. It is probably one of the worst hotel I encounter in Thailand during my 3 months visit. there is nothing positive about the hotel except perhaps for the location. We did run away as fast as we could the next afternoon after resting at the pool if we can call that. We just had a lousy awful buffet breakfast with nescafe, no quality coffe we requested. The food was so pathetic, our pet back home would probably not even touch . We are so glad we paid a single night, since our booking had been done at Chiang Mai International Airport on arrival. REMARKS: our room 523 was dirty and smelly. Bathroom towels stain and with terrible odor. Air conditioning leaking and not functioning well. Swimming pool looking more like a large bathtub instead of a decent pool for an hotel with some 300 rooms. No waiters for any service and the corridor full of broken office and guest room furniture, with workers seating on the floor eating lunch and making so much noise as if they were in a factory! We didn't get any smiles or greetings by any of the reception staff not waitresses at the coffee shop at the lobby next to the entrance. The rudest staff was one bell boy who kept on picking his noise while at the lobby near the hotel lobby door. he never help us with our luggage either. STAY AWAY FROM THAT HOTEL, the price offered is not attractive and you have an explosion of boutique quaint hotels in Chiang Mai to chose front. And EXACTLY the same price if not a little cheaper. This is where we went. WATCH OUT for the dishonest lady travel agent at the desk next to the reception. She and her staff are highway robbery thefts. They are abusing innocent tourist like us by over charging for taxi ride cost 2/3 cheaper if you hail a taxi outside yourself. Bellboys will not help you, nor the reception. Rude all the way..
Just finished our short trip to chaing mai, the hotel was perfect cannot complain about anything the staff are very helpful, our room was beautiful really clean and fresh. Breakfast was amazing they catered for everyone and on the morning of our departure they had a packed breakfast ready for us what more could you ask for. Really helpful hotel brilliant location really close to everything including the airport, Definitely recommend
We were a group of friends on a motorbike trip and our tour operator recommended Amora for the first day which was a good choice. Amora is situated right in the heart of Chiang Mai. We found the hotel to have sufficient parking. Our room was of adequate size and equipped with everything one would need for a short city break. We did notice a little bit of wear and tear here and there but that did not really bother us. Beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was adequate and with a good choice of western and Asian food on offer. Overall, we would say a good choice of hotel for a short city break with lot of options for tourists around the property. Friendly and attentive staff.Overall a pleasant experience
The hotel in general is ok, cuality vs price it was worthit for me and my friends but... the customer service is so so...first they don't speak inglish fluently so it's complicated to communicate. We ordered laundry and give us back some clothes shrinked, we complained and the apologize we received was that the "machine is hard"... Also we asked for help to confirm a transfer three times... at the end, when the time had come we indeed have a problem with hour transfer, and as it wasn't their fault their advice was to wait one hour... The thing is that you can't complain because the got offense very easily... i don't know... If i go back i will try another one. Thanks
We stayied here Two night, during a tour and i can Say it's a good hotel, with a nice hall and nice breakfast. It gas a very Good position. The swimming pool is nice, the Rooms are nice and clean . The swimming pool is nice, the Rooms are nice and clean
Our room was well decorated with all the mod-cons, including a hot power shower which was very welcomed after our jungle trek. The breakfast was also decent. However, the service in this hotel is not good. Most of the porters and staff about (if you can find them) come across as teenagers laughing, slouching and generally not being helpful. Nobody came across as trained, and although we left our room with the "please make up" sign on from 9:30am, when we returned at 2pm, the room was still dirty. They only reached our room closer to 3pm. None of the bars were staffed and we couldn't even get a coffee after asking two members of staff. The laundry service is ridiculously overpriced. Google the local launder who will collect and deliver from the hotel lobby at a fraction of the price.
I was in Thailand for almost 4 months early 2016. Where I was staying living in Chiang Mai was pretty comfortable and more than I really needed EXCEPT there was no bath. I was feeling very drained and achy at the time from the heat and couple of mishaps where I.... well... I just felt I needed a little retreat and to relax in what I thought would almost be "western" style and somewhat luxurious accomodations (at a reasonable "thai" price of course) What I needed most was a very comfy bed, a quiet room and a nice bath! I also needed something "accessible" but that's a lot to ask in Thailand LOL Anyhow... I stayed at Amora for 3 days and after the first day, I already felt like I should just go back to my favourite and most frequented hotel the Wangburapa Grand. (The larger rooms more comfortable, quiet and even more "accessible"... all at $30/night) The beds weren't as comfy as I hoped... The shower/bath was not cleaned well (long black hairs in tub and smears on chrome) The room had a loud low frequency humm Just wasn't worth it to me at all. I felt like I was just throwing $ away simply trying to pamper myself thinking "western style" would be better. I forgot one of the many reasons why I came to Thailand in the first place. Western thinking doesn't work and living luxurious in Thailand (to me) just seems sort of crazy. I didn't want to write this review back then because I was afraid to get anyone fired.. but I won't go back there. What was nice was the bar/restaurant area! The staff were all kind, polite and even fun! again... sorry my reviews aren't very professional I'm just sort of speaking (from my humble opinion) as it is, as I am.
I got the room on a nice promotion and paid 1200 baht a night including taxes and breakfast. First the plus + + Nice big room + Good breakfast + Room cleaning was good + Bed, TV, aircon in the room was good + Location is very good The minus - - swimming pool is not good - check in took very long time
