Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai

This is a nice looking hotel, very convenient to the night bazaar, and an easy tuk tuk ride to most temples. I really liked my room and the facilities. At arrival they gave a ticket for after welcome drink, but nobody knew where to get it. The bar kept sending me to reception. Beware of the tour agency at the hotel, they wanted to sell me s tour to the golden triangle for 1800 bacht, and I got it for 800 at an agency in the streets. Last thing, I used their laundry service and asked many times if there was a surcharge and they said no. My laundry costed 440 bacht and at check out, they charged me a 250 bacht surcharge. I told them several times that I was told there was no surcharge, but they still charged me. When leaving, one of the hotel persons at the door asked me if I wanted a taxi, and since there are not many taxis in Chiang Mai, I said yes, thinking he was going to call a cab,but it turned out to be some company probably connected to them that charged me more than the metered taxi that brought me to town. Overall, nice looking hotel, but be careful, because they will squeeze money out of you in the friendliest way!

Exelent in everything very clean laundry and dry cleaning very fast and good

The hotel is centrally located in Chiangmai. It has an impressive appearance from the street. The staff is friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and trouble free. The rooms were large with comfortable beds and nice TVs. The only drawback from Duangtawan is the rooms appear to be old and not as clean as I expected.

Hotel (rooms) is not so clean. Food not so good. The hotel is OK for the money. The biggest plus is location.

It is a good place to stay very frindly and nice staff Thanks to all

This hotel is average. Clean rooms, great location, not too expensive. This hotel does not have enough elevators, though, so you spend a lot of time waiting. The beds were very hard, but the pillows were nice. Check-out took a very long time because there were only two employees working at the counter, and every room had to be checked by the maids before you could be fully checked out. HOWEVER The breakfast buffet is amazing. There was such a wide variety of foods available that you could stay there a whole week and have a different breakfast every day. The hotel also has lunch and evening buffets which are amazing. I'd go to the hotel just for the restaurants, for sure!

The hotel met our expectation. We would come back to stay at this hotel in the future if we coming in town.

Everything was good, my friend enjoy the stayed last year. And convenient.

Hotel has a great location, but luck of maintenance takes it's toll. Just 4 elevators to serve 20+ floors in almost full capacity. Breakfast is OK. Only price and location might win me again.

Staff were excellent , shopping near and close to good restaurants

The hotel is on the very good location, near night market and 5 mini.on tuk-tuk to Sunday market. The service just alright, room is big but outdated. Have to pay for WiFi. Buffet breakfast was very good variety of selection.

This is not a 4* hotel and you can tell from the price. The lobby looks old. Everything looks like it could use some renovation. The only good thing is location. You can walk to the night bazaar in 5 minutes and easily walk to a tour company, thai food court, fast food chains (McD, Subway, starbucks etc). Staff are ok and speak english pretty well. The gym is very run down with outdated, broken equipments. The swimming pool is small but clean and well-maintained. Food is decent. Great for tourists on budget.

On the first night, the hotel didn't have a king bed available for us, so they pushed two twins together. The beds were very soft & uncomfortable. The management gave us another room the next day with a king bed and the mattress was very comfortable.

In the heart of the action. Steps away from the famous night market. Can't say enough for the location. Pleasant and helpfull staff. Rooms need some upgrading for 4 star. Can't beat location and price.
