We were unable to get a motel close to WCU for family weekend, but this was a nice choice in spite of the 30 mile drive. There were plenty of nice restaurants near. As other reviewers noted, the motel is older but quite clean attractive, and comfortable. Since we only slept there, and were out all day, this was a nice, economical choice. We love this area of 'mom and pop' motels and restaurants.

Older motel but very clean. All amenities you need. Comfortable bed. On a busy highway but the noise was not bad in the room. They do have a pet friendly room. They have coffee in the room but do not serve breakfast. Would stay their again. I thought the price was good for this motel.

This is a cute "ma and pa" motel with kind of homey furnishings and decor that looks fairly recent. There are cute little decorations and rocking chairs outside. The owners run the business and are friendly and able to give advice regarding local nearby restaurants. Not the luxury of Hampton Inn, but more personality! We would stay here again if visiting Maggie Valley.

PROS: Great location, the cute set up of the porch area with the rocking chairs, roses, etc. (We were there on a rainy night and it was nice to be able to sit outside and watch the rain), screen doors that allow you to open them up for fresh air, good a/c, knowing that the keepers actually live on site and have a stake in making sure your stay is good. Cons: The hotel is located right on the highway so there is some traffic noise; however we didn't hear it at night so not a con for anyone that is an average to heavy sleeper, it is older so there aren't as many outlets as one might like but definitely not a deal breaker for us, hard beds with TERRIBLE pillows, small rooms in comparison to hotels like Hampton/Comfort Inn, etc., ultimately its age is getting the best of it. The bottom line= Would I stay here again? Maybe. That pillow and bed were really pretty tragic and I'm not the type to take my pillow with me on vacation. If you don't/can't sleep well somewhere it seems counter intuitive to stay there. For me this is the kind of inn that you spend a night or two in and then make your way down the road. If you are looking for bigger, newer, amenities, etc. look elsewhere.

Very clean older Motel. Not bad but not awesome. Very close to Hwy. 19 a lot of traffic noise. Could have been a better price for my stay. The large patio area on the end of the motel is very convenient and clean nice area to hang out after hours.

Our family had an fairly good stay here recently. We visit the area every June for a church conference. Our usual hotel had abruptly closed and Laurel Park Inn was luckily available for the nights we needed at a fair price. PROS: The motel is older, but mostly clean. The porch area has lots of pretty bushes and flowers to accent the country feel. We enjoyed the rocking chairs. The room was clean upon arrival. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The TV was a flat screen with suitable cable channels. Air conditioning was cold. The bathroom was fairly large in comparison to the room size. The pool was good....our children enjoyed their time spent there. I liked having our parking spot labeled with our room number right in front of our room door. CONS: The office area was a little disorganized with dirty floor/rugs. The maid did not make our bed one day and on another day she took out our trash, but did not put new bags in the trash cans. The shower in our room was like tinkering with a sort of Chinese puzzle....there was one knob for the hot and one for the cold....getting it just right took several minutes, then it would abruptly change on its own and get really cold or really hot! All in all, it wasn't a bad stay. We "may" stay here again, but there are many little motels to choose from in the area, as well.

The Laurel Park Inn is a family owned and operated Inn on the east side of Maggie Valley. The folks are friendly & the rooms are clean. It's not state of the art, because it's been there a while, so if you expect all of the fixtures to be updated, a plastic room key, & the floor to be perfectly level, you will be disappointed. But the room is clean, water was hot, bed was comfortable, and the WiFi was great. The recommendation for a local place for dinner was outstanding. Thanks for a nice stay!

Had a great stay. Very clean rooms. Danny and Gina are very nice and friendly and do an awesome job maintaining the whole place. Definitely will be going back and stay with them in the future. Larry & Cindy Knight Cumming,Ga.

Gina and Danny are wonderful Hosts...they made us feel like family visiting their home...the room was spotless, the air conditioner was cold and the welcome was warm.....not only did we enjoy our stay, we enjoyed the company around the pool and on the porch with our host and hostess...when we checked out we were thanked for staying with them and invited to return anytime. I will stay here again when visiting the area...I highly recommend Laurel Park Inn, room rates are reasonable and the area is beautiful....they are also biker friendly and pet friendly...there is a covered patio area with tables and a grill for guests to use as well.

We have been staying here for more than 5 years on an annual group trip. Nice clean accommodations, great pavilion for a fire, fridge and a grill if you want to cook out. The owners are especially accommodating and friendly. Can' go wrong!
