We are unfamiliar with this area so that might explain our extreme disappointment in what we got for our money. Soco is a BUSY road with lots of noisy vehicles that even the backyard stream can’t drown out. Sitting on the upstairs porch the sound is lovely BUT the porch the porch stretches the entire length of the motel. See photo. The pool is smack dab on the main road and small😕. The continental breakfast is as basic as can be. But the little dining area is quite cute. The bed mattress was comfy and the bedding clean and new but the king bed transmits every wiggle of the spouse so get 2 beds if possible. The TV is old so if you are planning on watching sports be warned. The bathroom sink was draining very slowly which precluded putting my head under the faucet in the morning. BUT THE WORST PART WAS SOME HAIRS IN THE TUB THAT WEREN’T MINE 😩. This may be as good as it gets on this road but I would look elsewhere.
The title ”no service” applies to two complaints. 1. Contrary to the claim, there is no reliable internet. 2. Tv reception was horrible with snowy picture. Called front desk but no answer. Left message but still waiting. No response by check out.
Was very reasonably priced. It was the best night sleep we’d had throughout our trip. Such a peaceful area. Situated right by the river. Lots of places to eat on Soco Road. It was spotlessly clean. The room and bathroom was massive. The shower was really hot and powerful. The breakfast was lovely and has an outside sitting area by the river for breakfast. It was beautiful and we had a very reasonable deal. Maggie’s Valley is gorgeous and this place suited it well. Thanks
Great place to stay. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Our room overlooked a creek in the back. It had rained so much before we got there, it caused the creek to be very beautiful and fast moving. It was great to listen to it while going to sleep at night and wake up drinking coffee in the rocking chairs overlooking the creek in the morning. The deck is shared with about 6 rooms but the deck was never crowded. There is a little free continental breakfast but if you are looking for a more substantial breakfast, there is a pancake house right down the road. The staff was super friendly. It was quiet. The mattress and pillows were super comfy and I slept better than I had in awhile. The office dog was fun to visit with as well. I would absolutely stay here again.
For the last few times we’ve visited Maggie Valley, this is where we love to stay. Central location. Rooms are clean and spacious. Owners are friendly and accommodating. My daughter loved visiting Moca, the office “guard” dog, every chance she could. If you plan a trip to Maggie Valley stay here!
This was my Christmas present this year! Had a fantastic time here. This inn is very cute! Beautiful views all the way around. My room had the tub in it. I love it. The stuff were super friendly! The room was so quiet. I was so surprised how quite it was. No road noise.
My family of 4 recently stayed overnight, and had a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were very comfy, and overall it was a quiet hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant. This is a basic mountain hotel with basic value, and was just what my family needed. We were very pleased.
This is the second time we have stayed in this Hotel. It is a nice clean place. As if the mountains around here aren’t beautiful enough, we are situated right in front of the creek!! Right outside our sliding glass door there’s a porch complete with rocking chairs overlooking the creek. It’s so beautiful here! Maggie Valley is my favorite place to be and this has been an especially wonderful birthday for me! Now off to find the perfect Christmas tree to take back home!
We were ready to settle down for the night and get in bed when we pulled our sheets back to find urine stain and long hairs on the fitted sheet. So gross! Management promptly brought fresh sheets but the mattress pad really should of been changed too. We used fresh towels to lay over yucky spots then put clean sheets on, ourselves. Lady said new cleaning lady, cutting corners, but to me that is way more than a corner. Forgetting trash is a corner. Unfortunately you cannot expect better these days even in more expensive hotels. People are just so nasty and non caring when it comes to cleanliness. To me it says your not welcome here.
Loved this hotel. The rates are very reasonable, the room was spacious and very clean. The best part was that there is a rushing stream/river right out your back door. We actually slept with just a screened door between us and outside. This is now our 'go to' hotel while in Maggie Valley or just the general area.
