Hotel is decent, location is way out of the way, and the hotel staff are unwilling to remove noisy guests. It's ridiculous how drunk people can just walk up and down the halls without being asked to leave the hotel premises. We complained, called the front desk, security was sent up, but until 3am, drunk people were ridiculously noisy. My kids kept being woke up, and we had a horrible vacation at the Crowne Plaza. We paid a lot of money for the two rooms we booked, but again, at the end of the day, when the hotel staff have to choose about supporting a Chinese person who is drunk and a foreigner who has nowhere else to go, they support the Chinese person. I go to Chengdu frequently. I'll never stay there again. THEY NEED A POLICY ON REMOVING GUESTS FROM THE PREMISES WHO PERSIST IN BEING DISRUPTIVE AT 2AM IN THE MORNING!!
Can't get enough of Pandas? Well, stay in the Panda Room, worth 200rmb extra. This was perfect place after roughing it for a couple of weeks. All the western amenities you expect, separate shower (good pressure and hot water) tub, big towels and soft bed. Breakfast buffet (one of the largest we have seen) included and large number of staff speak good English. Located down the street from Pandas so kinda like staying at a Disney hotel in Disneyland.
We stayed here because it was close to the Panda Base, however, we ended up booking a tour that took us from this hotel to another Panda Center about 1 and 1/2 hours a way from the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice, feels new and frequented by Chinese tourists. Nice to stay at a hotel without a lot of Western tourists, We only stayed two nights, breakfast was very good as was dinner one night. The second night we walked across the street to a nice restaurant recommended by our tour guide and we enjoyed that as well. This is nice play to stay unless you are looking for city life.
We had a refreshing stay here with our kids. Enjoyed the swimming pool and beach. Breakfast was delicious. Dinner buffet was also worth the cost. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not functional. But I enjoyed the sauna very much.
We knew we wouldn't have much time in Chengdu so we chose to stay at this hotel given its very close to the panda base research station - the main purpose for us coming. The hotel was good value and had a gym, pool and day spa. Be aware it's about 45 minutes from Chengdu town. We arrived on a late flight - no problem getting a reasonable taxi or checking in at the hotel. The staff were courteous and friendly with some English speakers. Handy being able to catch their free shuttle to panda base next morning and a return later in the day.
This hotel is over an hour away from City Center. The shuttle is very limited. It goes to the Panda Base regularly but downtown only once. We ended up needing to use taxis and the subway instead of the shuttle - which meant we were enroute over 2 hours a day. Staff had limited English skills. We discovered we could not interact with staff over the phone because of their limited English. The concierge department was young, friendly and had almost no English. We have spent time in China and are used to using translator apps etc but when your AC isn't working it would be nice to have people who can help you. The hotel is clean, breakfast was good and the grounds are quite lovely. If you only want to go to the Panda Base and are comfortable with basic Chinese - this is your place. If you want to see more of Chengdu and would like greater English support you might want to look elsewhere.
Hotel has Clean rooms, pool for kids, steam room for the hubby and a day spa for me! The massage was very relaxing, recommend trying it yourself. Hotel is close to pandas, can use hotel shuttle bus. ⭐️⭐️
Free breakfast and shuttle made this a very good value. The hotel is beautiful, clean, with a friendly staff. We got there early after our 14 hour flight from Los Angeles. Not a problem. They had our room ready within half an hour and we were soon fast asleep. The shuttle goes to the panda center and the subway entrance, if you want to go to the city center. They also pick you up at scheduled times. There is not a lot to do around the hotel but that was not a problem for us. The buffet breakfast was huge with both asian and western food as choices. I would choose this hotel again if we were to come back to Chengdu.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the staff couldn't do enough to help you. We caught the shuttle to the panda reserve, which was very convenient. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice for everyone. Just one thing people should know, the taxi from the airport cost 150rmb but they put a 50% supplement on because they don't have a return fare, so it costs well over 200rmb. The hotel can order a taxi for the return trip to the airport for 150 without the supplement because the taxi will definitely get another fare from there.
Nice hotel with really nice and convenient rooms. Heating and air conditioning is central which made the rooms far too warm for the night which could be partially improved by opening the windows. Breakfast is very good and the staff is really nice. There are many local shops and restaurants in the surrounding but this is a residential area so you might struggle without native speaking company. Location is convenient to visit the panda but is not in the inner city.
