The city of Mildura is nestled in the center of New South Wales, and the northern border of the city is surrounded by the beautiful Murray River. There are a few lakes in the city as well, like Lake Hawthorn and Lake Ranfurly. The city is a great place for travelers because there is a lot of history and tours that will teach you about the Mungo region as well as Rio Vista. If you're a beer lover, there's a historic brewery that used to be the Astor cinema near Jaycee Park.
At the Old Psyche Bend Pump Station on the Murray River, you're able to see how the city pumped water from the Murray River into Kings Billabong. There is even more history to be found at the Mildura Arts Centre, which is also located along the coast of the Murray River. The center frequently has live concerts and shows as well as art exhibits throughout the year.
You'll be arriving at the Mildura Airport (MQL) when you land, which is located in the western part of the city. Remember that when you fly to Mildura, the temperatures will be different from those experienced in the states, with November through April being the hottest months that can reach temperatures of about 90 degrees.
