Your flight to Dhaka will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, located 13 miles from central Dhaka. A taxi ride to the city costs about 400 taka, and you should use the prepaid taxi service booth in the arrivals hall to avoid overcharges. The Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation also operates official transfer services and hotel shuttles from the airport. Buses and rickshaws are available, but they stop a short distance from the airport rather than at the airport itself. A bus ticket costs 5 taka, and a rickshaw ride costs between 70 and 100 taka. Buses are not air-conditioned, and they do not operate frequently after 8:00 p.m.
