A shuttle bus service makes it easy to reach the center of the city from the airport. There are also scheduled bus services that provide transportation to other parts of Sicily directly from the airport. Due to long waiting times, public transportation in Catania can often be problematic. Other transportation options include the city�s metro line, but keep in mind that it�s closed on Sundays. If you are interested in more comfortable transportation, taxis are available at the terminal. Expect to pay about 20 Euros for a taxi transfer from the airport to a downtown hotel. Bus fares vary based on the type of ticket you purchase; however, prices begin at just 1 Euro for a daily bus ticket.
