Cheap Flights To Barcelona (BCN)

The Barcelona International Airport (BCN) is where most flights to Barcelona arrive. It is located 8 miles southwest of Barcelona. Two smaller airports, Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) and Reus Airport (REU), bring local flights to Barcelona. You will find fast, easy ground transportation at BCN and many cash machines. To pass the time, there are plenty of specialty shops in each of the two terminals where you can get snacks and sweets while waiting for Barcelona flights. You can take the airport shuttle bus to get you between the two terminals since it takes about a half-hour. As with all international airports, you can easily exchange currency here before continuing to your destination. You can find tourist information at the kiosk which is located next to arrivals in Terminal 1.

Flights to Barcelona take you to the heart of Mediterranean life. The winters are mild and humid and the summers are hot and dry, making it the perfect holiday spot year-round. Summer is from May to October and April and November are known to have unpredictable temperature ranges. You can plan Barcelona flights any time since severe weather is not common in this area. Snow is rare; however, thunderstorms do occasionally become severe. December and January are the festive months to visit with leaves changing color on the trees. The best months to visit are from the end of May to July.

Getting Around Barcelona

You can hire a car from an agency at the airport or take the C2 train service. City buses also run out to the airport along with the airport transport bus. Once you have arrived in the city, you have several options for getting around. You can take the underground metro that has a low fare option, or taxis which are also more affordable than in many other areas of the world. You can hire a car even though it is not recommended unless you will be traveling outside the city. The bus system is clean and cheap for traveling within the city, but walking is still the best way to see things personally.
