I booked this hotel because of the free parking and the fact that I didn't want to have to drive into the older part of town. The location was closer than I thought and it was an easy 10 minute walk to the lively Vieux Port area. I also have stayed at a number of other Kyriad hotels and found them all to be clean. modern, and good value for the money. This one was no different. Checking in was a breeze and we had a basic room on the second floor, that was small, but clean, modern and quiet. WiFi was free and worked well. We were provided with maps and helpful suggestions about what to do/see. We chose to have breakfast here, it was around 9 Euro/person. There was bread, boiled eggs, cold meats, cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee and more. We will stay here again If we find ourselves here in the future. Thank you Kyriad La Rochelle Centre
Had the basic necessities but no more. Double bed was comfortable. Room was clean but shower is poorly designed and left a big water puddle on the floor. Restaurant serves breakfast only but there are pizzarias and the like on the same street. I got stuck in La Rochelle for one night because of a missed train connection so it was fine for that purpose. 20 minute walk from the train station.
Nice clean hotel. Reception staff young and most probably unexperienced. We asked for a taxi from the reception one night before we leave , we told the pick-up time, and reception confirmed the taxi. And unfortunately, in the morning the taxi was not there on time. Receptionist was so relax. They were chatting between three of them, and not caring attention to the hotel customer waiting in front of the reception with stress. We experienced a big stress, almost we were going to miss our train. My recommendation to the hotel is train the employees to be more responsible and sensitive to customer priorities. If we were to miss our train then we were to miss our plane which might cause a serious problem. Other than that the hotel is a small, clean, proper nice hotel.
At first we thought it was out of town but it proved to be in walking distance, about ten minutes. Good to access the bike paths which go all around the city, a very pleasant experience. You can hire bikes in different locations, but we took our own.
was lucky to find it due to Google Maps leading me to the street parallel to it….horror in the dark. however, I stayed here a week during Euro2016 soccer tournament. It's a newish hotel, a few years old, so it is really clean and modern. rooms are clean and bright, but quite basic. This is a travel lodge/ slightly lower than Premier Inn standard. €95 a night. and Breakfast at €10. It's location is 15/20 mins straight walk into the centre of town. we were on a tight budget so it is the best place in town for a tight budget. The bar is completely useless with no normal lagers, only dark and funny tasting beers. The wifi works great here. If it was more centrally located I'd score this 5, but it was not simple to find, and the streets are dark ( but safe ) but the google maps tracker is not pin pointed perfect it led us to the street parallel to it …. in the dark….at midnight. Only we met a businessman walking home, who was able to tell us. we were only 50 meters from it, but 50 meters is a long way when you are on the wrong street at midnight and you can't see the hotel. a little pricey at €95, €82 would be closer to the real value but who's moaning over the difference. nice casual places to eat including McD's minutes walk away.
Very Good hotel. Very clean and close to restaurants in town. About 20 minutes walk from the port and restaurants. I recommand this hotel. Nice réception and very clean bedrooms. Thé hostess was very nice
Last September we stop in La Rochelle for one night. Unfortunately due to a closure of a bridge in the city Nantes, instead of arriving in La Rochelle at 4:30 pm we arrived at almost 8:00pm, the hotel we had booked had cancelled our reservation, but with the help of the staff of that hotel we found a room in the Kyriad centre. It was a triple, but of course we took it. Now I say I am happy we had the chance to get to know this chaine of hotels (Kyriad). Located within a 20 minutes walking distance from downtown. It is not worth to take the car. The walking is safe and nice. The rooms are spacious, soft colors, modern. Big bathroom. Both very clean. It is nice to find in the room a kettle for coffe or tea. Very helpful, informative and nice staff. Private parking Good breakfast, good selection of fruits. Excellent free wi fi.
Our trip started out great. Hotel is in decent location, rooms are decent, and clean, although there's no fridge?? Kind of bare minimum....but not bad. Until our room was burglarized... We complained to the front desk who told us there was nothing that could be done. The manager was "unavailable". Would not return our phone calls, finally returned an email 12 hours later. My (deceased) mothers necklace was stolen from me, along with a laptop and iPad. The hotel staff wouldn't help me, and showed zero concern. The manager finally wrote back and told me I should have closed my door better, and how dare I be suspicious of his staff. I was told the security cameras do not record. I was refused help. Had to go to the police in order to get anything done. Then we found out the cameras are in fact recording. It will be interesting to see if the manager erases them before the investigation starts .... The quality of service and concern for safety of their guests is dispicable. All they did was deny, deny, deny.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights and thought it was excellent value. It was the only hotel on our tour that provided a kettle and tea/ coffee in the room. The rooms were clean and very comfortable It was a twenty minute walk into town but this was preferable to joining the traffic in the city. There was also a bus stop almost outside with a bus taking you into the centre for only 1.30 euros . I would also recommend the bus trip to the Ile de Re for only 5 euros return, with pickups from the railway station and the bus station, a great day out .
This Kyriad Hotel is very modern and roomy. The staff are very helpful and speak great English. Our room was airy and bright and the bathroom was very large. They offer free secure underground parking which is a premium in a city. We had lots of recommendations from the hotel staff on where to visit and restaurants to eat at and enjoyed a very pleasant stay.
